Lindy Ruff has been fired and Arsene Wenger is still the Arsenal manager.

And long may that continue if he transfers in the right players this summer and the desired results are achieved next term .

According to Bbc website

Rafael Benitez has said he will leave Chelsea at the end of the season and described the decision to only make him interim manager as a "massive mistake".

That's not the only great thing he said

Henry Winter ‏@henrywinter

Benitez on #cfc fans: "They are wasting time with their banners and songs. They don't need to worry about me. I leave at end of the season'

Henry Winter ‏@henrywinter

Benitez fuming in press conference here: "These Chelsea fans have an agenda. These Chelsea fans are damaging the image of the club'

Henry Winter ‏@henrywinter
Benitez: "I'm experienced. I've won the Champions League, the Spanish league twice, the FA Cup. They (fans) are a group with an agenda''

Henry Winter ‏@henrywinter
Benitez says #cfc fans 'must get behind the team or they will be in the Europa League next season'

Henry Winter ‏@henrywinter
Benitez: "Why put 'interim' in title? Why did they need to do that? Maybe they (board) thought: 'He was at Liverpool so we put 'interim' in'

Henry Winter ‏@henrywinter
Well that was lively. Benitez has left press-room. He's slaughtered #cfc fans, criticised board. Interesting to see how long he lasts now

It's true about the fans.

They didn't give him a chance from the start.

Man walks into den of thieves and is surprised to lose the shirt off his back.

The notion of damaging Chelsea's image amuses me.

Hope Kronke gets his ass out of here. He claims to be a buisness man, if you can make a profit Stan, please get your ass out of here.

Arsenal poised to be subjected to 1.5bn takeover bid from Middle East consortium within the next few weeks:
Quote:
The cash offer, which is more than twice the amount at which Arsenal were valued two years ago, will be for 100 per cent of the club, and if successful would wipe out debts that stand at around 250 million according to the last full year’s financial results.

According to a bid source, there would be substantial transfer funds made available to transform the club into a major force in European and world football. There would also be a pledge to reduce ticket prices at the Emirates Stadium — currently among the highest in the world — as well as an attempt to recreate “some of the feel of the old North Bank” at Highbury.
Quote:
The bidders would like to unite the ownership, putting all the shares together in one fund. The offer will be for the full 62,217 shares which have been issued, but effectively it will be to buy out Kroenke, in the first instance, paying around 830 million for his 66.83 per cent shareholding (41,581). The offer equates to around 20,000 per share.

The deal would provide the American with an approximate profit of 400 million given the majority owner is believed to have paid around 430 million to build his stake in the club since he first became involved in 2007. When Kroenke made his mandatory cash offer for Arsenal in April 2011, buying up the stakes owned by Danny Fiszman and Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith, it valued the club at 731 million.
I think that's enough cash for Kroenke to bow out.

With the new PL restrictions that have been agreed upon this is not going to happen.

Doubt Kronke sells out though. The guy paid out everything, all the debts, and the stadium, while still making profit every year. Now that the team is debt-free, I can't see him selling out. Could give him a 400M immediate profit, but I think he might look long term and decide not to sell.

At 1,5bn, that means the Middle-Eastern consortium would be paying 20K per share, when they are currently worth approx. 14K per.

Weird situation none the less.

Arsenal have dismissed the possibility of owner Stan Kroenke selling his majority stake in the Gunners following reports that a Middle East consortium could make a 1.5bn offer for the club.

Trying to decide if I should be worried about this or not. Particularly, with fair play rules looming next year:

It is ultimately a net positive however the trend that the club cannot turn a profit is disturbing. There's a bunch of TV money coming which may allow us to, but the shirt deal is going down.

Also considering that the club took a sledgehammer to the wage bill it isn't bad news and . I also still think they intend to sell the club to a sugar daddy consortium type as soon as the club hits CL qualification, which is how they can justify taking out debts or putting in their own money into the club. There is no reason to put in their own money if they do not think they can get a big return out of it, and CL qualification money is not remotely a big enough return.

I guess I just expected to see a bigger drop in the wage bill over the period mentioned in the report. I am just curious as to what the plan will be the summer. We will definitely have to sell to buy based on these numbers as was suspected. However, we really, really have to get our defensive signings right this summer or we are going to be in trouble.

Also, good point on the CL money and that it looks as if FSG want to reach CL to sell.
