Why do people think we are trading Joe Thornton?

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/GARTH...Sharks/6/45931

This article got me a little excited when I first read it because I think Doan would be a great addition to the Sharks, but I think it is ridiculous that people think we are trading Joe Thornton to create cap space. And then the proposal for a possible trade was Pominville, Luke Adam, and a 2nd round pick.
Are you serious?

- People are bored
- People need to get more 'hits' to their sites.

Remember, hockeybuzz is run by Eklund.

They post so many articles to nonsense. I could totally see us looking at Doan, we always tend to do be quiet about things when a signing/trade gets close. But that proposal was terrible for someone who can lead a team and has 3 100+pt seasons under his belt.

Don't pay too much heed to it.

JT is not going anywhere while we are still trying for the cup.

eh, i too got excited at the report of doan to san jose.

then i realized it was a blog dedicated to why thornton should be traded to buffalo.

I wanted to cry. Jumbo wont be traded for plugs.

If we need to clear cap, say bye bye Danny Boy

I know people will disagree but outside of Couture, each and every player in our top-6 is trade bait before Jumbo.

Thornton to Buffalo starts with Ennis. I don't think he should be traded, but if he is, it will not be for a bunch of spare parts.

Tyler Ennis? No thanks. I'd rather have two months of Brian Campbell.

I was being more literal regarding the drunk part.

But yes, yes, ... I do love Jumbo. My first Sharks jersey as well.

i was told earlier this week that the reported and conformed four year, $30 million deal for Doan that has been on the table for three weeks now, has been stepped up to five years and $8 million per.
That's ridiculous though. Total BS.

Grigorenko, Girgensons, Armia, 1st. Trade Boyle for Del Zotto. Trade Marleau for Toffoli and Voynov. Trade Havlat for Wiercioch. Let the rebuild begin with 25+ mil in cap space. Woo.

$25M in cap space and no one to spend it on. Unless we can convince Perry and Getzlaf to sign here.

Yeah it's crazy how ****** the UFA crop is next year. But yeah with all that money and ELC contracts, we can overpay those two like there is no tomorrow.
