but still, 4.5M with 4 ufa years on that deal, he could have easily asked for 5.5+ easily, but I'm glad he didn't.
Could be true & would explain why he decided to leave that extra .5-1 million on the table to stay with in MTL, get a nice house and settle w/his wife[Afinogenov's sister].

I facepalmed when I saw the 4.5 AAV.

What a ****ing deal. For 6 years? Jesus... As a Bruins fan this makes me sad. He's already worth 4.5, he'll be worth so much more in the 6 years too. Congratz, Habs fans.

His agent:

Habs fans should know that @MaxPacioretty67 wants to be in Montreal and agreed to a cap friendly long-term deal to help the team win.

Amazing deal. Habs fans should be very happy to have one of their key young players locked up longterm for well under his market value. It not only leaves the team more cap-room for future signings but shows that one of your star players is really committed to the team and enjoys playing there.

Wow, didn't see a bargain like that coming. Nice signing by Bergevin and the new crew. Pacioretty should club his agent now. Big savings on the cap hit for the Habs.

Wow this is a phenomenal deal for the Habs. Even Pacioretty never improved and stayed on the level he is now this would be a good deal. But he will improve and then oh my oh my.

Great deal for MTL. How many UFA years does this eat up?

Terrific deal for the Habs. That's pretty much an untradeable asset now.

sad state of affairs when 90% of the comments in this thread are about the cap hit...

who cares about his cap hit, he's a great young player that's locked up for 6 years...4.5, 5.0.or 5.5, what difference does it make???
