Then my Aunt married into the family and she is a HUGE Pats fan (also a huge Bruins fan, nobody can be perfect ) so that kind of enforced it. Started playing football soon after that, was probably the only Pats fan. And then all through school I was the only Pats fan. Tons of variety though with everyone here, Colts, Broncos, Dolphins, Eagles, Packers, Steelers, Chargers and others. Pretty much every team haha.
Same thing happened to me, but probably a few years before, as I was playing Tecmo Bowl on the Nintendo and got hooked on the Raiders because Bo Jackson ruled in the game.

After the last decade I sometimes wished I had picked a different team.

Pats fan.

When I was a kid I was a Dolphins fan b/c we lived near Miami and it was the Dan Marino years but after moving back to TO then off to Boston, I really enjoyed the Pats. That was the year they made it to the Super Bowl but lost. Been following them ever since in my travels.

I can tell you that much like the Leafs, the Pats are hated in Vancouver.

Started following football in 2000 and picked Baltimore to win after 3 games. I don't know why.

It was fun to watch them follow through, and I've cheered for them ever since.

Bo in Tecmo is probably the greatest player ever made in sports video games lol.. I still used the 49ers though, the Montana to Rice long bomb was pretty unstoppable itself. If you timed the button-hook right you could land it even when it was called on D.

This is actually my EXACT story too...

Made a bet with a buddy for a DQ sundae that they'd win the superbowl after 3 games...and I won.

The only team I've ever cheered for that has won anything.

Siragusa was a BEAST that year.

That he was....man what happened after week 3 that made us think that? I think they were 2-1, and I just said they were going to win it all to my Uncle.

Biggest Packers fan in Toronto. I am a part-owner in the Packers, and hold an actual stock certificate (I know, it's a very small percentage, but I'm still proud).

I don't have a favourite NFL team which is good because the NFL is the only league I place bets on

Been cheering for the Broncos since the Elway days, loved the comebacks. Last year was interesting with Tebow, hope Manning gets back to the way he can play!

EAGLES!

I mean, which other team rivals the Leafs in championship disappointments in the NFL like the Eagles do?

It was a rude awakening switching to Madden on the Sega and the run in diagonal lines down the field strategy no longer worked.

When I started following it was the Eagles and T.O..... Remained an Eagles fan ever since although I kind of have a soft spot for the Jets in recent years..

To be honest though, with the sports pack I often watch the best matchups on Sunday more then any one team.

I started really following the NFL when the Jim Kelly/Bruce Smith/Marv Levy Buffalo Bills were rising to prominence.

I became a fan back then and have stuck with the Bills ever since then. I finally went to my first Bills game last season when they beat the Eagles. It was a great experience.

It's said what has happened to that franchise since they made the decision to jettison Doug Flutie in favour of Rob Johnson. Hopefully they can make the playoffs this season for the first time in 13 years (ouch, that hurts!).

Eagles fan here. I think the first football video game I had was Madden 98 for Game Boy Colour. But I didn't really get into that game. The first one I played to death was Madden 2003 (for PC). Loved Donovan McNabb in that game so I think that's how I became an Eagles fan. It was pretty sweet to watch them for the first time in the 2004 season and watch them go to the Super Bowl. But since then, it's been pretty disappointing (especially last year).

Giants fan for many years; but I have a soft spot for the Titans, as they won me quite a bit of money in a bet once.

I've seen the Steelers live more times than any other team. I'm surrounded by Steelers fans!

Oh they were cursed long before that lol.. you can't lose 4 straight Super Bowls without some seriously Ballard-eske mojo going on. Sure didn't help though for sure. I've always hated the Bills, but even I cheered for Flutie when he was there. That was awful... how do you yank Flutie (winner) for Rob freakin' Johnson (loser).

Doug Flutie is my most favourite athlete I ever got the chance to work with. He's a genius/idiotsavant when it comes to football. The things he sees, remembers and analyzes were far far above what even his own teammates did. It was no wonder he accomplished so much despite his size.

When I worked with the Argo's, their QB's were Andre Ware and Doug Flutie. Both Heisman winners. Ware was 6'4" and all the tools while Flutie was small with a tonne of heart and desire. Flutie was by far the better football player, although Andre Ware was super cool.

I always felt bad Flutie never really got a chance.
