Which trade with Boston would you undo?

I had a discussion with someone today on whether the Leafs would benefit more having Rask or Seguin, given how we're currently lacking a #1C and #1G. Both of those players clearly have the potential to fill either of those needs very well. So taking into account which need you feel is a higher priority, and which player has the better chance of fulfilling those respective roles, if you had the chance, which of those trades would you undo, if you would at all?

I can see how I might get jumped on for this, so I'd like to state that I'm by no means against Kessel or anything. I'm expecting the Rask/Raycroft trade to lead the poll as we actually got a long-term piece of value from the Kessel deal but at the same time I'd say we ended up losing a lot more of value in that trade as well.

No question. It's the Rask trade. Rask for raycroft is a flop. at least with Kessel you're getting an elite offensive talent.

This should be a blowout...just because there's arguments for the other options doesn't mean they're viable at the end of the day...

Anyone who considers the last two for more than a few seconds just has a hate-on for Kessel and Rask...

We undo the Rask for Raycroft trade and that's a huge hole filled in. Plus a first doesn't leave for Toskala?

Rask, clearly. The other one may have been bad, but at least we have Kessel--our best forward--to show for it. You can essentially trace the downfall of this franchise back to the Raycroft trade.

That's what their first round pick was. Doesn't mean that's who the Leafs would've picked.

I understand that's the case, I just like to put names to draft picks I guess...and...

Rask for Raycroft, that was a disaster. I personally like the Kessel trade.

Rask was coming off an incredible WJC for Finland and Raycroft was coming off an injury plagued poor year for Boston. I mean what the heck were the Leafs thinking? lol

JFJ got sold on Raycroft's Calder Trophy win.

We also had the amazing Justin Pogge, so clearly Rask was expendable.

Let's see...one trade we get an elite player and top 10 NHL scorer, the other we get a terrible terrible goalie.

Pretty easy decision.

I was so damn excited about Rask after that tourny. He was easily my favourite prospect at the time and I was devestated when the trade went down. I still have a soft spot for him.

That Raycroft was a true Calder winner instead of the injury plagued year Raycroft. What's probably more sad is he shares the record for Leaf wins in a season with Eddie with 37.

Well this was pointless, ha. I banked too hard on the value of Seguin and Hamilton.

Only because he played 72 games that year.

lol Kessel led that tournament with 11 points. I know Boston wanted Rask in the 05 draft, but no way Raycroft should have been that expensive given the year he just had prior.

If we had Rask, I'm not sure Boston has Seguin.
