He was producing with Kovalev. He stopped when CCC made him Winchester's winger.

Exactly. He has the skills and hockey I.Q that can translate to offence if he is paired with another smart player who knows where to be, and can distribute and recieve the puck. I really think he and Turris would be a good match together, they are very similar players, both wirey guys that can move and are agile.

I like him, he'll play fine like he did last year. it all comes down again to his shoulders. The big worry is injury.

I'm a pretty new Ottawa fan, last year I loved the Sabres and the year before that I was a pretty hardcore Washington fan. I don't know much about this Regin guy but I hope he can but up 70-80 pts.

Very unrealistic.

I really hope so. Very good top 9 forward. Would rather have him as third line center than Smith

Thank God you have no control over this team.

Why?

Smith has a physical game that Regin doesn't. He's scored more goals in a similar amount of games, and he's two years younger.

Plus he can take a hit without requiring surgery.

I'll take Smith ahead of Regin in that role all day everyday, as would any GM in the league.

Regin's better defensively at this point than Smith.

I like Smith's tools though. Prolly the better long term option

Yeah, I doubt he even plays 70 games.

Regin is much better defensively, and is better playmaker who makes his line mates better. He also has a great transition game.

Regin may be a better skater & offensively better but Z. Smith overall can take the physical play demanded to play in the NHL. Regin is just too soft. I would like to see Murray try & move Regin, Condra & Daugavins in some kind of package for a young player with potential like a Shawn Mathias. I think he would be rather cheap right now & at 6'5" he has good size & wheels & with a few yrs already in the NHL he could be coming into his own, we could start him at centre on the 3rd or 4th line & see what he could do. He could turn into Brian Boyle or Jason Arnott, he has the potential to be a very good NHL player. If we could also get Gubranson out of Florida that would be two good peices added to our young team.

I can't imagine you'd be able to get a whole lot with that package.

Yeah... there's no way we're going to swap Condra, Daugavins, and a plus for Matthias and Gudbranson.

I'd love for the Sens to go after Mikael Backlund. He's a great two-way player, but the results have not came yet. I think he has the potential to be a 20-20 guy someday

It's very strange. He looks to be a better player than the numbers indicate.

Hopefully he can breakout and become a Fran's Neilsen type player.

If the bounce itself doesn't hurt him he'll be a solid player. I think there are some that think he's got more offense in him then he does, just my opinion, but regardless of numbers the guy can play solid minutes if healthy.

I honestly think that if Regin can stay healthy, he could hit 50 points on our second line, but I can't see him on any other line playing that well
