Exactly as i noted above. .190 in June when he initially got hurt and shouldn't have played.

The Titanic, considering the damage it suffered, survived much longer than both its chief designer thought it would, and certainly much longer than any other ship ever built at that time in history would have.

Sorry, I was just trying to give a diversion from the Sox season, which is going down faster than the Hindenburg.

By god, this organization is cursed.

I like Brian Johnson a lot too. He was a good pitcher and 1B at Florida. His velocity has been a bit more than expected as he has been getting it up to 94 in his last few outings (likely due to shorter appearances)

Solid stuff and he throws strikes. Fortunately, he just has the broken bones and no sign of a concussion. Hope he recovers quickly and fully.

Hopefully. But anyway, his last five starts now are exactly why he shouldn't be lumped in with Beckett anymore.

Im starting to change my stance on some individual players. Im looking forward to seeing some guys pay next year...

Crawford - obviously hurt and is still giving it his all

Pedroia - He may have been whiny this year but he's really come on in the last month when he could be sulking. His stats are better than his averages if you take away his injury month

Buchholz - I'd make him my opening day starter. He's been great this year

Lester - figured it out starting to pitch better

Ciriaco - would start at SS next year until Xander is ready in 2014

Middlebrooks - Hopefully avoids sophomore slump really jumped on the scene this year

Also guys like Morales, Ross, Nava and Aceves can build on their good years next year

Ps. Did anyone else almost throw up when Fox showed Beckett and Lackey sitting next to each other shooting the **** in the dugout? One of the most disgusting things I've seen on tv

For everyone who wants Valentine fired:

Brad Mills is now on the market. Can't really judge him for what he couldn't do with the Astros. He now has MLB managerial experience if you count the Astros as an MLB team and wasn't part of the organization for last year's collapse.

Why fire him now?

Is he the problem? Let him finish the year.

Of course it was the guy who got shipped about a few days ago. What a coincidence. Listen, even if the idea came from a "small group of guys including our new Mets-scapegoat", Adrian is fully capable of turning it down. Afterall, they needed his handy to sent the message.
I wouldn't have allowed that if I had little to no issues with the manager.

So, you're telling us that both guys of the Daily news were " paid " by old friend Larry to write that Shoppach was behind the turmoil? That's a good conspiracy theory and i'm sure that some people will buy into it but.... come on !!!

He always seemed like a malcontent. In the seed video he was being a jackass as well.

The NYDN story has zero journalistic integrity. The details in the story don't back up the title at all. There are mysterious "sources" that seem to point fingers away from the Red Sox organization.

Suspect status: fishy.

Lot of hope on this teams future infield- Gonzalez, Pedroia, Ingy/Ciriaco, Middlebrooks

also, Bogearts continues to rake in AA- another two hits yesterday and a homerun. Reading he is more advanced at same age as Hanley Ramirez but with a fantastic demeanor and no bigtime about him. Hey, hope is better than nope.

Also, lefty loaded, but Lester, Buchholz, Dubront, even Morales is a decent group going forward.

A moderate makeover and this team can be quite likeable again
