Looking for justice isn't the right way to deal with your problems in my opinion

This is a good example of how sad the justice system is:

True, but taking issues into your own hands would just serve to further worsen the situation. Eye for an eye makes the world blind.

That's the right decision, IMO. He was victim of a theft, yes, but that doesn't give him the right to shoot a man.

No. That's blatant oversimplification.

Exactly why justice isn't what people make it up to be

Charged for assault.
I'd be willing to bet good money that there's a full story that you're not telling. In a vacuum, defending yourself on your own property isn't a crime. There has to be some outside factor you're not mentioning.

Moving on before I lock this thread and move it to the politics board...

I got oxi-clean, some isopropyl alcohol, and generic stain remover for my war against pen ink.

Oxi-clean appears to have been soundly defeated.

Dammit Pat, it's so hard to tell with you. I see absolutely no problem in defending yourself and your property, and neither does the law... but only using reasonable force. Using a lethal weapon on someone isn't the answer unless they're trying to kill you, IMO.
