Sens could use him if he's realistic about the money aspect.

I'd like to see him come home to New York as the Rangers 6th defenseman. I think he'd be a perfect fit here at the right price.

No question he's overpaid, but he's no where near as bad as fans believe him to be. He has disappointed in Toronto, but he's still very capable dman.

He'll get a 1 year deal somewhere in a bottom 6 role.

Canucks get rid of Ballard and sign him to a 2 year deal. 1.75 per.

Good 5-6 Dman.

Hammuis - BXA
Edler - Garrsion
Komi - Tanev

He'll find a deal. Not as bad as portrayed.

A very good passer. Just ask Cammilleri

Fun aside, yeah, he should find a contract. Just don't expect too much from him.

he was one of my favourite players when he played with Montreal. Id take him, for cheap mind you, but he used to be a pretty good DMan

Yes. The guy is still an NHL defenseman. He's not someone you would include in your core, but he would still be a very serviceable bottom pairing guy for a lot of teams in the league. His biggest problem is trying to live up to the huge deal that he signed in Toronto.

Playing with Markov most certainly helps. But they complemented each other really really well. The thing is right now we have Emelin to fill the role he used to have in montreal: the real punishing defenseman. I don't think Montreal needs any 4-6 defensemen. For all I know, what they need is a real 1st line forward to play with Plekanec all year long, insted of playing with him for 10 games before being switched for a 4th line player like Kostopoulos and Darche (with all the respect that I have for these two players).

DD-Cole-Pacioretty is a great offensive line, but if Montreal wants to succeed they don't need Komisarek, they need a forward.

Don't worry, I know you didn't mean he is what Montreal needs most, I just wanted tu say it :p

I'd like to see what he and the rest of the Leafs can do under Carlyle and an actual defencive system. Perhaps he can turn it around while there's still time.

He's not a bad defenseman, he's just overpaid.

Would not offer league minimum. Worst defenseman on one of the worst teams in the league.

I think Fletcher would take a good long look at signing Komisarek. He's definitely not nearly as bad as fans make him out to be, and our blue line looks hideous right now apart from Suter.

Somewhere, John Scott approves of this terribly misinformed post.

I'm sure someone will sign him, lots of teams need a #7 or #8 dman in case of injury. Somewhere shy of $1M.

He's not bad. He masqueraded as a top pairing D when he was next to Markov. Markov basically single handedly got him his big contract. I think he's probably somewhere in the 2.5-3M range as far as his real value, I think he's definitely still a fringe top 4 guy but his contract makes him look far worse than he really is.

I also want to see this experiment before writing him off.

And he is certainly not as bad as people make him out to be, he is a decent bottom-pairing guy who is capable of blocking shots, able to make few hits here and there, and can drop mits often.

I would say if a team sign him for anything under $2 mil, they got a solid d-man in their hands.

Agreed. I can see him leaving Toronto and bounce back with another team. He is not a top 2 defenseman however.

What does his contract have anything to do with how people perceive him on the ice. He is awful in both ends, especially in his own end. Terrible fighter, his shot is a floater, slow as hell, terrible passer, low hockey IQ. Only thing he has going for him is he can throw a decent hit but even still, he misses 50% of the time leading to a scoring chance.

Note: He was a healthy scratch on many occasions on the 5th worst team in the NHL. Even Luke Schenn who was having a terrrrible year was still better/getting more ice-time than Komi.

Was one of my fav Habs, but he lost his mojo after that Lucic fight, he was a intimidating player up until that fight.

Also playing with Markov helped him a lot, and the leafs never had that type of D-men to pair him with. Even in his prime, Kaberle was no where near as good as Markov is defensively is.

But I think everyone in Mtl is over him leaving so I wouldn't mind him as a 6th dmen
