This actually made me burst out laughing. How I wish I was a hockey player

no. i disagree. i wanna hear good things about my favorite team and i want to be able to celebrate with the announcers after my team scores a goal. it makes it much better because u know the announcer feels the same way u do. plus if u have announcers for your team for a whole season, they actually know how the team plays and can talk about them in a good way. when a big station like nbc plays the games, they have no idea what players are capable of and arent able to talk about the little things your team and its players have done.

I once sat next to a Detroit fan at a CBJ game who did this all freakin' game with his kid. And he would not shut the hell up either.

This applies to horrible announcers as well. The Pittsburgh Steelers radio guys refer to their players by their first name exclusively. I can understand not wanting to say "Roethlisberger" repeatedly, but most of these players have short last names...it took more effort to say "Santonio" than "Holmes", but good luck convincing them.

People who claim they're 'true' fans when they can only name some of the players only from their favorite team.

Announcers that play favorites.

Really? I love the Detroit announcers. I haven't really found them to be that big of homers either..

The trapezoid.

The obsession with concussions and headshots. Go watch tiddlywinks if you don't want to see 'em.

Why would you want to celebrate with the announcers? Their job is not to cheer for your team, but to report/ broadcast what's going on. I don't want to hear them slobbering over one team all night, even if it's the one I'm cheering for.

Agreed: Why not have the anthems, announcements, etc. at 6:45 instead of pushing the start time of the game back?

Mine would have to be

Any kind of diving
Players like Holmstrom getting penalties just for their reputation
The hate on shootouts
Teams that play all defense after they score a goal or two, even though that generally results in the wings coming back, it still makes the game pretty boring

The other NA leagues certainly do terribly with their no/extremely seldom ties.

Just remove the pooper prize point and make every game worth 1. Extend the shootout to 5 players a side.

I've always hated that when someone is called unlucky when he hits the post. That's not unlucky, the shot just wasn't good enough.

Delay of game penalties for throwing the puck over the boards...
Just cause a longer delay.

I am sick of a legitimate hit...even to a star player, being immediately followed up witha fight.

Hitting is part of hockey, if a guy sacrifices his body to make a play, star or no star...that's his own decision and his own fault.

People who think Hockey should only be played in cold weather cities.

People who say they are long-time fans but then ask you dumb questions like how five-for-fighting works, or what (insert penalty here) is.

People that want club/top 40ish music played at games.

What?

That's home ice advantage.

You boo the ref mercilessly every time he makes a call against you, or misses a call against the opposition. No matter how bad it is. The louder the better.

Sorry, but I don't think I was ever subjected to a behind the net/ teams switching sides shot from CBC.
