Correct me if I'm wrong (RKY), but I thought if we drafted a player who already signed their ELC (in real life) that you would just assume that contract. Is that not the case? Or is the above deal the deal he actually got in real life? If so, disregard this haha.

No thanks, I'd rather wait till next year when the 'premier' free agents can actually crack my lineup

While I'll also take a crack at some of the top ones who may be available, what are the odds that more than a couple actually make it to free agency? Both in RL and in here I'm fairly certain that GMs will be either locking up these players, or trading them for assets to a team who will.

Not saying none will make it to FA, but it'll likely be a lot less than what some of us are hoping for.

Hey guys, DP is right in that you assume the players real life ELC if one was signed but I would appreciate it if you run it by Kershaw before you announce it. I'm not sure if you guys have or have not been doing it but just do that he is aware of it.

RKY, have a question for you regarding free agency. A player like Gilbert Brule signed with a team in Europe and I think that league is in NHL 13 (I think the only European League not in the NHL series is the KHL). Would he be available to sign once free agency starts, as he is still technically in the game?

What do you think about that?

The only thing i was worried about, was not being allowed to sign the prospects we just drafted until after the draft. I didn't want to jump the gun.

Yea just use the cap hit. I don't know what the structure of his contract is but no bonuses are needed.
