Detroit Red Wings Prospect #11

1.) Brendan Smith - D, 6'1" 198 lbs: Mimico, ON, CAN 72.73%
2.) Gustav Nyquist - RW/LW, 5'11" 185 lbs: Halmstad, SWE 68.75%
3.) Calle Järnkrok - C, 6'0" 176 lbs: Gävle, SWE 72.73%
4.) TomᚠTatar - LW/RW, 5'10" 186 lbs: Ilava, SVK 44.44%
5.) Tomas Jurco - RW, 6'2" 187 lbs: Kosice, SVK 65.85%
6.) Riley Sheahan - C, 6'2" 223 lbs: St. Catharines, ON, CAN 27.78%
7.) Teemu Pulkkinen - RW, 5'10" 198lbs: Vantaa, FIN 35.92%
8.) Xavier Ouellet - D, 6'0" 187lbs: Bayonne, FRA 45.24%
9.) Ryan Sproul - D, 6'3" 186 lbs: Mississauga, ON, CAN 45.98%
10.) Petr Mrázek - G, 6'2" 185 lbs: Ostrava, CZE 62.69%

Well Mrázek ran away with it so it is safe to call the #10 spot. Don't remember him being this tall, but that is what eliteprospects has him listed at and I am happy to see the extra couple inches for some reason I thought he was just 6'0". Quine had the most votes as the add. Generally like to wait at least 24 hours but cannot see this getting reversed the only thing that might change is Quine not being the add by waiting until 8 EST.

Think we are in for a bunch of tight rounds for a little bit again, so expecting the full two days to run its course in this round. Keep suggesting adds please, thanks for all the help.

Voted Frk because without his concy he goes top 15 probably. Jensen is a solid vote at this point too. Add Callahan I guess

Voted Jensen who I think could have a very strong NCAA season, possibly getting some Hobey Baker attention. Gotta go with the Greek dude as the add. Anathasiou? It's gonna be hell trying to remember the spelling on that one. At least Chelios was nice and short.

EDIT: Since the Greek guy is a very fast skater, like Helm fast, I propose we call him from here on out GREECE LIGHTNING.

Finally get to vote for my favorite Red Wings prospect Marek Tvrdon.

Big kid and scores a variety of different ways. Think he flies up the list this year and has a big year in the WHL.

Think we should add either Brian Lashoff or Mitch Callahan.

Actually have both Jensen and Tvrdon in my personal top 10.

Well one of you didn't click on it in the poll, so remember to do that. Don't know how to check which one, but he is still showing just one vote.

I'm going with Andersson here due to his readiness. Not a standout by any stretch though.

Thanks been wondering that during most of this process. Hopefully he will come back and vote in the poll. If not I will keep it in mind if we end in a tie.

Yeah I am hoping Frk has the bounce back year from injury Tvrdon just had. So for me advantage Tvrdon because he has already done it, so that isn't a question.

Of course with MacKinnon to play with Frk's numbers should be dynamite this year.

Have to go with Tvrdon, a guy that would be much higher than this on a lot of other teams lists. Compared to Frk, he's only 8 months older and with his size advantage I rate Tvrdon higher. Jensen and Frk are the next choice, a very hard one indeed.

Btw, Frk's goal/game average was almost the same as Tvrdon's so it's not like Frk wasn't productive while he was playing. It's just the injury and uncertainty that follows that.

Add Lashoff.

Frk vs Trvdon, and Jensen vs Marchenko should be interesting battles.

Went with Frk because I believe he has the higher-end skills and higher ceiling. Trvdon is a great prospect as well though, I'm glad to have him in our system with his size and strength.

add Nicastro

Interesting to compare Jurco and Tvrdon

Jurco: GP48 G30 A38 PTS 68
Tvrdon GP60 G31 A43 PTS 74

Tvrdon scored 1 more goal, and 6 more pts in a tougher and more defensive league on a not-as-great-team-as-st.john

Jurco played 12 games less and was only one goal behind but he plays on one of the best teams in the CHL, in a "weaker" league that's more offensive, and with great linemates.

Isn't tvrdons stats more impressive considering all this?

I don't know that they are more impressive, find both to be pretty impressive stat lines. Tvrdon was technically a rookie last year and led all WHL rookies in scoring which is also worth mentioning.

I think the curious part to watch on Tvrdon is what he does without Gallagher this year out there. If he can increase his scoring pace without him that is a great sign for us. Jurco also doesn't generally line up with the best possible guys on his team, played with Galiev the most of all the talented guys. Now his lineup was loaded to be sure, but the other big guys people trot out with him often didn't really play all that much with him.

Really wish him luck, last year was a hard year for him with the school problems. Kid crushes guys according to scouting reports have only seen him play once and nothing stood out in a huge way. Can we expect a bump in scoring? I know he projects as a bottom six guy, but with him shortening his decision time period by going the CHL route, I think some more points would do wonders for him getting a contract.

I'm not exactly sure. I don't follow him or the Q closely. I'm friends with Theoret (Niagara Ice Dogs of the OHL, Islanders pick in '11) who grew up playing hockey with Hudon in Quebec. I go to school in Ottawa and Theo was in town so we went and visited Phil. Really nice guy, really funny. I would assume that since he is a year older he will be relied on more to produce. I just met him and have only seen clips of him playing, but I am guessing now that he is staying in Quebec he will be more comfortable.
