Average. Better than last season but that's not hard to do. I thought the scene after Deb shot Lagueta was the most moving. Apologizing and breaking down while hugging her. The mechanisms the writers use to move the story along are poor and lazy at times.

All over the place.

Good moments, but with about 32 storylines, 45 plots and 904 plotholes.

I'll reserve judgment until I see what they do with season 8, but - while better than season 5 and 6 - this show's still nowhere near how good it was in seasons 1-4.

The only thing that will really carry over big time, is the Deb/Dexter thing.

Also, in 7 seasons I don't think anyone has ever woken up somewhat quickly from that drug Dexter gives them.... but LaGuerta wakes up in like 20 minutes after being shot up with that? That kind of annoyed me, as far as minor details go.

I don't really see any other angle they can take other than to make LaGuerta disappear, since Deb botched the murder suicide thing by shooting her with her own gun... so now they have to get rid of her, because it's not like they can even make it realistically seem like her gun was stolen, since she never filed a report or anything.

Not really a fan of the idea that we'll have to wait several episodes into the final season, to see exactly where the plot line for that season is going, most likely.
He said he gave her a half dose so it wouldn't show up in her system

A lot of plotholes but still entertaining TV. As for rankings, i'd go 1,2,4,6,7,5,3.

Can't argue with that..I MIGHT and JUST might switch 6 and 7, but I know not of these seasons "3" and "5" you speak of

I'm having a hard time remembering seasons 5 and 6 because I hate them so much, but I'd probably go.

1 was phenomenal. That much we all agree on.
2 was good.
3 was solid I guess. Not my favorite.
4 was phenomenal. Interchangeable with 1 in my opinion.
5 was decent.
6 was the worst, but better than a lot of TV
7 was good. Interchangeable with 2 for me.

That's really all I could remember. I read up on them a bit and forgot about robocop from season 5, and Mos Def from 6. It's possible I hate 6 the worst because it's fresher in my mind than 5, but I absolutely hated the whole religion plot, and anything involving Colin hanks.

Seeing Doakes makes me want to rewatch season 1.

Lame episode, there's just plot holes everywhere. Also is it even possible for the drug to work that fast? I remember in earlier seasons there was some struggle and then they were out. Now, it's just comically fast.

The show runner stated in a clip they played after the episode was done, that the entire hugging, crying, apologizing scene wasn't scripted that way, and was completely improvised by Jennifer on the day they shot it.

So I have not watched Season 1 since well, it was on. The scenes in last nights episode. It looked like some were from Season 1 and some were new or were they all new with Doakes in them?

Maybe they should do that more often. One of the best scenes of the season and not because of the content.

I'll be disappointed if Carpenter doesn't get some Emmy love for this season. She definitely deserves it, IMO.

I remember some of them, not all. I don't think they re-shot any of them.

Dexter didn't get nominated for an Emmy, at all.

Poor Jennifer

That was for last season, which was completely deserved. If it has any nominations for this season, it'll be at the next Emmys.

That's slightly confusing since we'll be just wrapping up season 8 of Dexter then (unless they pull a breaking bad) but works for me. I thought this season was all around a return to form for them, and shows they really should have just stuck to book 1 to begin with.

It was a good season, but not great if compared to the early seasons.

Dexter freaking out when he had that one guy on his table was probably the most enjoyable moment.

Hated LaGuerta but that was pretty sad seeing Deb's reaction. She's going to be extremely messed up in the head now. Even more impressive reading from you guys that she improv'd that. (She kind of messed up the crime scene though)

LaGuerta telling Deb to shoot him makes no sense at all, she'd obviously want him arrested.

Doakes was so awesome. I was hoping he was going to turn up the same way Dexter's father and brother do. They killed him off way too soon. I assume/hope he had signed up for another show back then?

No love for season 6? I actually quite enjoyed it.

2,4,1,6,7,3,5

Lundy and Doakes are my favorite chars in Dexter, hence why I chose 2 as my fav.
