We're in dire need of his career high of 35 points?

I lol'd at this pretty hard. I'm a Leafs and Coyotes fan, and there is no way in hell the Leafs could get Hanzal for Bozie and Colborne. Hanzal brings so much more to the table than you could think of. He plays a shutdown role while putting up decent points. He gels with the Phoenix system and signed a longer term contract to stay committed to Phoenix.

Amirite?
Exactly. I mention the same thing in my first response. Hanzal is a coaches player. Does EVERYTHING right.

OEL > Morgan Rielly. As a leafs offer, I don't think we'd have the assets to get Getzlaf. Kadri + Blacker + 1st 2013 + ???

We wont give Rielly so adding is difficult, we want to compete now.

Like I said though, as a fan of BOTH teams (so no bias):

Hanzal > Bozak
Hanzal > Colborne
Hanzal > Bozak + Colborne

This is where you guys should really watch more hockey that is not TML. I'd druel over having Hanzal on TML. Bozak is merely a product of Kessel and Colborne hasn't done a thing. Watch a Coyotes game and you'd see what Hanzal brings.

Even if Hanzal was a #3C (he's Top 6, unquestionably), why would we need another 3C when we have McClement who Carlyle already said is playing there.?

I mean, the guy signed for less because he wanted to play on a Carlyle checking line...

OH boy... Yes, everyone gets it. Hanzal is a great 2 way player. But Bozak out-scored him easily last season while being no slouch in his own zone. Grabovski did as well. Hanzal is a great #3C but he may hold more value to PHX than his actual trade value.

I know most of Pheonix's games start kinda late, but a DVR might help you in some situations.

Hanzel is one of the best two-way players in the NHL. Nobody cares if a borderline top-9 player is good at defense. Problem is, Bozak is slotted as a go-between. He's a piece. He's a workhouse that goes out there and plays in every situation, but he doesn't master one dimension. Hanzel does, and he produces decent offense as well.

As far as Grabo goes, him for Hanzel would probably have to include a + from Toronto.

Not a fan of either team.

As a Leafs fan I'd love to have Hanzal on my team and wouldn't think twice about giving up Bozak and Colborne to get him. Too bad Phoenix would laugh at that offer.

Hanzal is big, physical, mean, excellent defensive center who excels in a cycle/board game in the offensive zone. Hanzal has 5 years on his contract at a very nice cap hit for a player of his skillset.

Any Leaf fan who wouldn't want Hanzal playing 17 to 20 minutes a night over Bozak must truly not understand how much of a soft perimeter team we are that relies on creating all of our offence off the rush.

Martin Hanzal is the most effective shut down center in his conference.

That's not me being a homer, either. It's just true. I'm not about to claim Vrbata is one of the most effective goal scorers in his conference simply because there was only one forward in his conference with more goals. That's because I don't actually believe its true. Hanzal, though, it's not even close. He's definitely the most effective shut down center in his conference.

The sarcasm in this thread made my night.

And the people who did not even pick up on it made it even more hilarious.

Are maple leaf fans oblivious to players values around the league? Serious question. Sorry to generalize the entire fan base because of a few keyboard happy posters.
