Back to back finals. Wings/Pens. Hossa helped.

I despise the Canucks. They're the hawks biggest rival in my opinion. Redwings and Blues following after that.

The problem is the lack of a divisional playoff format and we won't see sustained intense rivalries again until they are implemented.
The problem is there is no real hateable player on the Wings lately. I guess you could say Bertuzzi, and Abdelkader is kinda a ******. But there's no Maltby, McCarty, Ciccarelli, or Draper anymore.

That being said, it is, and always will be Detroit.

Det is and always will be the Hawks biggest rival. To many young people around he think it is Van.

To me most hated does not mean biggest rival. Pretty much everyone hates Van other the Van fans. Difference between Det and Van is that at least Det top players are respected. Van you have the sisters falling all over the ice, Lou crying about something, Burrows bringing a new definition to stupid every other night and Bieska just being himself. Det you hate but can have some respect for their players, Van you hate and then laugh about their antics.

Ask the players what team they hate the most and it will easily be the Nucks.

Rght and most of them aren't lifelong Hawk fans either.

The wings are our biggest rival and everyone hates them. Nucks are next up and I hate them with passion.
Stars jersey are the most popular at my school. I've never seen a hawk jersey but I've seen people wearing hawk hats yet they know nothing about the team. They just think the logo and **** looks cool

Historically, it's the Wings. I think the current roster players feel more of a rivalry with the Canucks. There is some bad blood there. Can't wait until we're good enough or in a position to knock them out of the playoffs again.

franchise will always have a rivalery with the Wings... the players would hate them more if we would face them in the POs next year

Actually no, we really don't.

Sure, we hate both the Hawks and Bruins, but we also recognize that the rivalry has been largely overblown and fed by the hockey media ravenously trying to create narratives for their own sake. It helps that the players on these teams have fed into things by making it personal so often, but really, longtime Canucks fans recognize just as much as longtime Hawks fans that the Canucks/Hawks rivalry is more a trendy fad than anything else. Ultimately, the old Smythe division hatreds will be stronger and more lasting for us just as the old Norris division hatreds will be for you. A few more seasons and a few more playoff series against other teams, and everyone will probably forget about it. Just my thoughts on it, anyway.

Think this is a good summary of how I feel. I definitely have a lot of venom for Vancouver (more so than I've had for any team in a really long time) but much like Colorado-Detroit of the mid-late 90's, this rivarly will fade over time with player turnover and playoff series and such against other teams.

I was just slightly too young to really have had the brain capacity to truly hate Detroit in the modern heyday of the Hawks-Wings rivalry of the mid-late 80s into the mid 90s. I definitely remember enough to know it truly was bitter and nasty, though. And there were decades prior to that where that was the case before my time. That will never completely go away even if it's somewhat dormant now. A playoff series against one another would reignite that rather quickly, in my opinion.
