Completely destroying our defensive depth and landing us with a horrible contract simultaneously? Good work.

Are Cogliano and Frolik actually considered bad contracts?
I'd easily take both on the Jets.

Frolik is making 2.33mil to sit in the press box for 2 more years. Not a contract Chicago needs.

It would be good to have another collection besides Ryans (Smyth, Nugent-Hopkins, Whitney, Jones)

Surprised nobody has said it....
Lombardi. 1 year left for 3.5m cap hit.
I get the feeling we will be trading Franson before the season starts so I think we need another defenseman to replace him.
Lombardi is a speedy winger, no idea if he would interest the Capitals.

Isn't Schultz the guy with a bad attitude and is pretty much a bust? He wasn't good enough to crack Anaheim's roster so he fled to Edmonton looking for a job?

No that's Justin Schultz. This thread is about Nick Schultz.

Here's what I found:
Michal Handzus, San Jose
Andrew Cogliano, Anaheim
Michal Frolik, Chicago
Thoughts on this guys? Any other ideas?
Forget about those other guys.
Why settle for the rest, when you can have the best?
You sir, need to take home a brand new, Anton Babchuk today, and I'm prepared to give him to you.
All I need in exchange from you is Jeff Schultz.
We have a deal?

I think I would rather give away to pick (or cash if only the NHL still let teams trade it...) to get someone to take Leino's contract than get another d-man who'll likely end up taking ice time away from our prospects in the AHL.

Is he really that bad? Seriously, what happened Washington fans? Two years ago Pierre Mcguire said that Nick Schultz was the most under rated player in the NHL. Also I loved his game when he played for the Hitmen. Actually, I would rather have Schultz than Wideman on the Flames.

Don't you have to
play and
fail in the NHL to be a bust ?
Kid has never set foot on an NHL rink for an NHL team before.
As to the OP I would find a deal just so the oilers had another Schultz.

Lombardi has one year left, Schultz has two.
Its time Leafs start picking up useful players for their roster and not take on salary dumps just to get picks and prospects.
All these useless players are add up missing the playoffs...Connolly, Lombardi, etc.

I think Schultz can be a useful player if we were to acquire him. He upgrades our back end and we free up a bit of cap space this season.
