If the second season even comes close to the first one, it's going to be one hell of a series.

I just finished watching the first season over the past few weeks. I don't remember being this impressed and drawn in since seasons 1 of Dexter and Boardwalk Empire. Homeland is my favourite new show from last fall (yes, that includes HBO's Girls.)

I think Claire Danes is probably the best current leading actress on television.

Damien Lewis consistently brings such a powerful on-screen presence and intensity.

Mandy Patinkin is the calming influence of the show. We're all aware of his versatility, but he's impressed me more than any other actor on the show. Better call Saul indeed.

An intelligent, adult, topical drama, with fantastic acting and nail-biting suspense. What more can you ask for?

Edit: The first season of Rescue Me was also something special.

Could not agree more. The number 1 surprise for me last Fall, and as riveting as the first seasons of Dexter.

Can't wait.

I always found myself watching Homeland first on the DVR over Dexter and The Walking Dead. Judging from the trailers I've seen so far, that probably won't change.

This show was amazing the first season. Claire Danes is absolutely deserving of the Emmy she is going to win on September 23rd, and I think Mandy Patinkin is probably the best "supporting" actor on TV at this point (in parentheses because Aaron Paul and Peter Dinklage are basically leading actors, and Giancarlo Esposito isn't on TV until Revolution starts).

Really excited to see what the second season has in store.

I really like the first season, except maybe the last episode. And that wasn't because it was good and suspenseful.

For some reason, part of me kinda wanted this show to be run with each season being "independent" of the others similar to Dexter. I kinda wanted a "new case" for them to go into next season. I was just worried that this conflict might get old soon.

That said, from the brief glimpse I saw, they may have expanded it in a way that may make it encompass more that just 2-3 characters in Washington D.C.

Same here. I think I'm going to have to re-watch the first season to get prepared for the premiere of season two.

Claire is pregnant in real life. I'm curious if they had to write it into the show somehow. Can't wait for the new season.

First season was awesome, so much so, that I'm worried what they're gonna do now from now on to do it justice.

Still haven't finished Season 1...I started to last semester but then I got really backloaded w/ a bunch of other stuff and lost track.

I'm only 2 episodes away from finishing though, so I'll think I'll read over the synopses of previous episodes to catch up and then go from there.

Still pumped though! With this and Boardwalk starting around the same time, and Walking Dead soon after!

Can't wait.

I had a thread for this last season but no one seemed to care. Its an awesome show.

The one kind of gripe I have is that this show utilizes the 24 mechanism of leading to the next episode. Leaving off on cliffhangers or wrapping up a small plot and then leaves you clueless as to what to expect for the next episode. It's a good tactic as it keeps you hooked but it is somewhat annoying.

Though, this show is from a lot of 24 people so I guess it's expected. Why mess with success?

Agreed. Lewis and Danes need to win in their categories. I enjoy Breaking Bad and Mad Men, but I'm sick of them winning all the time.
