Ill probably get the AHL gamecenter (or whatever its called). A lot more prospects there this year than the previous years. AHL aint affected if theres a lockout, is it? Then probably watch some SEL/allsvenskan games on TV here in sweden.
Plain and simple: I'll put a lot of focus into other sports who don't treat their loyal (and very generous $$$) fans like garbage. For being a niche sport that depends on support from diehard fans, it really pisses me off that the NHL takes their fans for granted as much as they do.
Another lockout means that I will not be putting anymore of my hard earned $ into pricy tickets or merchandise.
I understood the motivations of the recent lockout because the league really needed to get their house in order.
But this one?
It's all motivated by unabashed greed and the never-ending tug of war between the commish and the players. Don't get me wrong - both sides are at fault. The owners are guilty of cooking the books to distort their financial performance in a negative way. The players are just downright greedy.
In terms of adversarial relationships, I can't think of any league that constantly goes at it like the NHL and the NHLPA.
I would follow WBS more. Hopefully Roots Sports would pick up some coverage. I would also follow the Wheeling Nailers some more. I may even get to a few Nailers game this season. After that I will probably look into the OHL with the Otters. maybe even check out what Johnstown is up to with their new team (NAHL I believe). Dayton has also become a member of the FHL so maybe i will follow them.
