Holland was. I don't think he would have made the team out of camp.

Has anyone heard an update on Beauchemin's shoulder?

I was making a joke regarding a ******** Ads fan saying that none of the current Ads were "real" Ads.

This will be interesting to see how this affects Norfolk today. I think as of last night they only had one forward to healthy scratch with McMillan and Wagner hurt. I'm sure Palmieri makes the roster right from the get go, I'm not so sure Holland does. I also think it's a toss up between DSP and Etem making the team out of camp depending on the need that needs to filled.

Also appears that Corey Elkins was let out of his contract by Anaheim and went back to Sweden. This really leaves Anaheim and Norfolk very light on bodies at forward.

Anaheim is pretty set at D so I imagine guys like Sami and Hamphus will get some time in Anaheim this year.

My bad. I had no idea there was any butt-hurtery going on down there.

They'll have to sign a guy or two I guess. I wish so many of our better minor players hadn't gotten hurt.

What kind of offensive potential can Holland be expected to contribute over the shortened season?

Would 28-33 pts in 48 gp be a fair assessment if he stays on as second line center?

I'd be thrilled if Holland scored 20-25 points.

I don't like Ryan and Selanne on the same line. But I like either Ryan or Selanne with Holland.

Yeah, that would be a solid first campaign and more realistic.

I was being a little optimistic, considering that powerplay points will only be a very small contributing factor.

How about then:

Palmieri-Getzlaf-Perry
Ryan-Holland-DSP
Winnik-Koivu-Selänne
Staubitz/Beleskey-Bonino-Cogliano?

I wonder if Cogliano's talents are getting wasted in a small bottom 6 role. But I would like to see Winnik with the old guys instead of Cogliano. DSP on the 2nd line could be too soon for him though.

Better! But I'd put DSP on that Koivu-Selanne line. I'm not sure what to make of Winnik yet, but I bet he's the better top 6 option between he, DSP, and Cogliano at this point.

As for wasting Cogliano's talents . . . he's just not a great fit. I think we have to accept that he's a hugely overpaid bottom 6 player, with some value as a penalty killer.

But who plays with Ryan and Holland then? Cogliano could cover up their defensive mistakes and Beleskey could be an interesting option. I'm hoping that Beleskey found his offensive skills back in UK and maybe he could complement that line with his energy and physical play and put few goals in as well?

Cogliano doesn't really fit anywhere. His size wouldn't matter that much if he had two bigger more physical linemates but it's just hard to come up with a combination with Anaheim's roster. Maybe they should buy him out?

I think slotting Holland in at center is a bit premature. He hasn't proven he's a better option there than Bonino. Frankly, I still think Bonino is the better playmaker.

I agree 100% about Holland. I think the only Admiral that will play is Palmieri, maybe Maroon It would be better for Holland and DSP to learn to dominate the AHL rather than playing 4th line minutes(I think Bonino will play 2nd line). Next year there will be more openings for those two.

Palmieri-Getz-Perry
Ryan-Bonino-Selanne
Winnick-Koivu-Belesky
Staubitz-Cogs-maroon? (maybe missing someone)

I'd rather have DSP playing bottom 6 minutes then Staubitz being a regular in the line up

I didn't mean that I think Holland stays down. I meant that I think he'll spend time at LW first.

Yes. I am on the Bonerwagon. I think he's a top-notch passer, but that's certainly no knock on Holland. Bonino, if he's in shape and didn't regress, is the better player right now.

And I like a potential Bonino-Selanne pairing. The only advantage I see for Holland over Bonino in that specific situation is Holland's greater speed and size.

I'm a Bonino believer, but has Holland ever played LW since turning pro?

As someone else said, I wonder what playing in the UK has done to Beleskey's confidence. If he could play on the top line with effectiveness that would be huge for the team. He has shown in the past he has the capability to do so.

What does that matter? He's played LW in the past, and short of him blowing Bonino away in camp, he'll have to play what role he's asked to play.

The only problem I see with Ryan-Holland-Selanne is defense. Otherwise, I think it's the best way for Holland to become integrated into the lineup.
