What exactly has Weber accomplished in the playoffs that makes him better? Being ousted in the 1st round?
That's quite humorous, considering that Karlsson has yet to advance past the 1st round.

Oh, and Weber has been to the 2nd round in the last 2 playoffs.

cool story, Weber has a better team than Karlsson.

You honestly believe this supposed to prove Weber > Karlsson? Now I've heard it all.

Voynov > Weber right?

Contract situation can play into it as well.

Fire away!

To Sens:
Tyler Seguin

To Bruins:
Eric Karlsson

Add Lucic and Hamilton, and the Sens wait an extra 2 sec before hanging up

Weber's career success proves that he's a better D than Karlsson.

You're the one who brought up failing getting past the 1st round.

Come on, that's a little bit of an exaggeration. I think Lucic and Seguin is worth at LEAST Karlsson+, let alone Karlsson by himself.

You're the one who brought up the playoffs, in which Karlsson has performed excellently.

Karlsson is 22, Weber is 27

Norris Trophies:
Karlsson 1
Weber 0

meh, maybe just Karlsson, definitely no +. Lucic ain't that good. Rather have Hamilton tbqh

Ottawa would have a huge hole on D if it were Looch and Seguine

Fair?
previously in this thread i put seguin in a group below karlsson value.

of course, seguin is 20 and historically would be improving rapidly at this point in his career. 365 days from now i could easily see him being worth more than karlsson.

Feel the wrath of MAK

Disclaimer: One poster's feeling on a matter does not necessarily represent the general opinion of Sens fans.

Seeing as we have Spezza and Anderson, the other most important position is filled with Karlsson, and if we trade him, we'll have a hole unless we trade for Doughty, Piets, Weber, and while I'd do 1 for 1 for those players, I prefer to keep EK

There are just as many experts who would pick Weber over Karlsson.

Karlsson never had to go up against a prime Nicklas Lidstrom.

Also, you haven't explained Karlsson's 1g-0a performance in the 2012 playoffs.

Kings wouldn't trade Doughty or Kopitar straight up for Karlsson, no way.

Not would, did, the Norris was almost a split vote between Weber and Karlsson.

Karlsson + our old team = heavan
Now Weber will have to up against Karsson

Karlsson played great, but you have to give credit to the #1 seed and their amazing defense.

Karlsson went cold against a very very good defensive team. **** happens. Play that series over again and he might be ppg.

Most importantly, he was still Ottawa's best D, and probably player overall (Spezza was good for a few games but was just awful for a couple as well). Rangers fans came away impressed and they understand why he won the Norris now.

Then again, he may not.

He may be Ottawa's best D, but I'd still take Weber over him.

And look, I agree with you, Karlsson and Weber are very close right now. It's debatable. But Karlsson is younger and has more potential at this point. More value.

Injuries, contract situations and Sens' needs are why I wouldn't trade him straight up for the best forwards in the league.

I am an oiler fan, and I totally agree with you. This discussion would be a lot more interesting though in 2 years. I think by then RNH will be a top 10 forward in the NHL and a one for one trade scenario would be more realistic.

At the beginning of last season there were a lot of threads mentioning an Eberle for Karlsson trade scenario and it was close, but with the season Karlsson had it is hard to imagine Ott ever discussing trading him.

It was cool to see skinny 18 year old RNH up in the top 10 and even higher at some points in the season.

I like how Karlsson has a good season and he is a god, and most other players, especially Leaf players, have a good season and they are obviously going to regress. And it is the same people arguing both points. Hilarious.

should have seen Green against the Bruins in playoffs. Effective defensively when forced to do so. Karlsson has the upper hand because he is a much better skater than
Green, which helps his backcheck. Green has more defensive skills, all Canadians do.
