So I managed to obtain a bunch of various material from the "Bring Back The Senators" campaign. It's definitely an interesting read for those like me who were too young (or not born) to remember. Over the next week or two I'll be scanning and uploading the various pamphlets, newsletters etc that all led up to the first ever Ottawa Senators game.
I'm not allowed to link to the blog I originally post the material on, so I'll be uploading the scans a short time after here on HF (the blog provides me with a place to upload the images easily so it gets the advance viewership first). Anyhow here's the contents of the fourth and fifth post featuring the first issue of the volume 2 Power Play newsletter. Enjoy!
First Page: Notable quote “Pat Quinn has been very helpful”
Second Page: Some of the original team’s sponsors (including everyone’s favourite newspaper!)
Third Page: An interesting look at the Palladium (now SBP)
Fourth Page: An article on some hall of fame dinner, check out the picture of Denis Potvin when he was younger!
Fifth Page: French version of the same hall of fame dinner article
Sixth Page: An update about Ottawa finally completing the steps to joining the NHL
Thanks for sharing this. Always nice to look back on stuff like this. I was 10 when they came into the league so I'm old enough to remember the bad seasons. Still it's good to see we rebounded and have been a decent team since the 1996-1997 season.
Go Sens Go and acquire a defenseman and another scoring winger.
