FWIW, I don't think it's any one groups fault for this potential lockout. It's a group cluster**** really. I just see most people piling on bettman!
It is entirely the fault of the owners, who have been spending recklessly the past few years probably fully expecting to pull the parachute on their freewheeling ways, in essence bad faith negotiating. I guess this is why a guy like Ed Snyder has no problem handing out fat contracts when he realizes he only has to pay 75% of it long term with a rollback as a near certainty.

Exactly.

The Charles Wang's of the world need to be policed and the NHL fans and players have to suffer to accomplish that.

The league was too profitable under this CBA, the top teams brought in too much revenue forcing the Nashville's to spend too much. That's why the owners get NO support right now, the fans have seen nothing but growth as shown by the linkage forcing the cap to rise.

Apparently good consistant growth in overall business is bad for the game of hockey. Who knew.

Both Bettman and Fehr have admitted that the Gap between the 2 sides is quite large....so I am not expecting a miracle...

I agree, a lockout would hurt regardless, but having a lockout and missing out on 24/7 would hurt.
