Hey Y'all, The Board-To-Board Mock Is Here! It's a mock draft where fans of each teams get to choose the players THEY want! Here are the rules, wich are pretty simple and short:
For the first part, I'll post a poll on each of the 30 teams forum here on HFBoard, including the most valuable signed players from the respective team (teams are keeping all their unsigned prospect). Fans from each teams will have to vote 3 players from this list (I'll take the 3 players with the most vote), wich they will keep as their franchise players. All the other signed players will go in the Innitial Draft.
The Innitial Draft. Pretty simple, I'll make a list of all the players wich are available, and I'll go board-to-board posting a message with this list on it. Fans from each team will then have approx 6 hours to choose who they want as their pick. This will be a reverse draft, and the order will be decided with last year's Goals-For Standings (The team with the highest goals scored last year will draft first..).
I would keep Sundin, McCabe and Carlo. Sundin and McCabe for me are obvious choices because they are both star players and are not over the hill. Keeping McCabe on board would help the developmenr of Carlo. Carlo is also a must for me as well because he is their best prospect hands down. I thought about Kaberle because of his age but McCabe is still young and a better all arround player then Kaberle.
Now if I could pick five they would be as follows.
Sundin, McCabe, Carlo, Stajan and Poni.
Poni may be a bit of a surprise to some but I really was impressed with his play last year. His size, strength, deceptive speed and shot give him all the tools to be a good power forward in the NHL. In my opinion Poni is going to have a big break out soon.
isn't the idea to pick franchise players??
why anyone would pick players like leetch and belfour boogles my mind
they are on their last legs and have very limited time left in the NHL
not what i would call a franchise player.
I picked Sundin, Cola, McCabe...it's my thinking that good defence is always the hardest thing to come by, and as of yet there isn't anyone on the team prepared to replace Sundin as the teams best player.
