Pronger vs Lidstrom

In, their primes, who would you rather have on your team for a cup run?
(NOT who's the better player)

Personally I'd choose Pronger. He just has that "it" factor.

I'd take 2006 Playoffs Pronger over just about any D to have played in my lifetime.

Yeah. This. He was dominate in '07 too, but had a much better supporting cast.

Its hard to vote against Lidstrom, but both are very different players. Tough choice. I'd probably go with Pronger just for the intimidation factor.

Which is funny because he was the poster boy for playoff choking with the Blues. Always took untimely, undisciplined penalties with them. He really smartened up with Edmonton and the rest is history.

Easily Lidstrom.

There's a reason he has 4 cups and a Conn Smythe and never missed the playoffs in his career.

Not close.

Lidstrom 10 times out of 10, and twice on Sundays.

I'd take Pronger. He just has a 100% playoff demeanor.

Pronger. Lidstrom had a better and longer career, but Pronger at his best was simply better than Listrom. That is why he has a Hart Trophy. I hate Pronger more than anything but he was just more dominant.

I'm sure that had nothing to do with the team around him in those years, right?

What happened in 2006 and 2007? That was Pronger's prime, prime is what we're talking about.

Answer the same as in last thread; depends on the team. I would take Lidström except with teams like 06 Edmonton.

During 2006 and 2007, Lidstrom had two Norris trophies, was coming off an 80 point season, and outscored Pronger despite playing in one less round.

amirite?

Lidstrom. Prime Pronger is still at risk for getting suspended in the playoffs
