hmmm just looked it up you are right but on the blues site they say he played in the KHL last year if you look to the profile on him from this link.
Ha, you're right about that - Blues' website made a mistake. They had the right team, but Slavia Praha is in the Czech League.

I still think he's closer to being a contributor in the NHL than most of the guys we're voting for now. And more likely to get there.
I just can't figure Grachev out. ALL of the components are there. Size, skill, speed, etc., it's like he has all the tools, but can't seem to get into the tool box. You are right. Maybe we are overlooking him, because he seems to have made himself more of a suspect than a prospect. The Blues are talented enough and at a point where guys have to contribute consistently or they won't be in the lineup.

PT,

Grachev had an excellent camp and was one of the top scores. When not given ice time with top two line players he just didn't produce the offense that was hoped for. After returning to Peoria I think it would be fair to say that his offense was a dissapointment.

I really thought we'd see him throughout the season when injury struck. The Blues are just so deep at 2/3 line forwards that its hard for a guy to stick. But I thought Grachev could be an upgrade on maybe the 4th line with some upside. I felt like he kind of tried to do too much during his limited chances with the Blues, but I'm puzzled at what happened in Peoria. I thought he'd stand out more there.

You're right about preseason, but he just disappeared when the season started. He played fine, just no production to speak of. Skill is there that is obvious, but it just hasn't translated to points at the nhl level.
