Round (2) of 64: "Best NA Pro Prospect" - 2. Robin Lehner vs. 98. Aaron Ness

On to Round 2...

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 50 AHL + NHL games played (20 AHL + NHL games played for Gs); Maximum of 100 NHL games played (30 NHL games played for Gs); 26 years old or younger by 12/31/12; Signed to play in North America next season; Can't have played more than 50 NHL games in 11/12 NHL season, injured players exempt (ie. Mike Sauer, Jacob Josefson, etc.)

Disclaimer: This is based on my own subjective rankings. So if you don't like them, too bad - the best will win in the end. If I overlooked someone: too late the bracket is already made. Made a total list of ~200 but pared it down to 128.

----

2. Robin Lehner (OTT)
Round 1: def. (127) Carl Klingberg - 90%

This is a bit og an unfair match-up. Ness is turning into a good prospect but has not had enough time to recover from his poor NCAA showing. Ness is going to be fighting for the last open spot on the Islanders roster this coming traning camp. The current beat writer for the Islanders beleives that Ness has the inside track on the spot dispite his small frame.

Dispite these facts, of course Lehner is currently better.

Ness is turning into a good prospect and can be a NHL regular in his second year removed from college, which says alot about him because of his size but Lehner is easily the better prospect.

Can Hey Hanrahan, nyiguy21, seawolves, Streit Power, tp71 explain their answers? I would love to see the reasoning.

Don't be a trolling homer! Aaron Ness is a good prospect defender. He might be small in stature but has put up good numbers his rookie year in the AHL and preformed quite well in his 9 game injury call-up in the NHL this past season. The Islanders beat writer beleives that Ness has the inside track on the last defence spot on the NHL roster this coming training camp. Yes I agree with you that Lehner is most likely a better prospect at this point. However others have different opinions. That is why we are here, so dont trash someone because they dont shar the same opinion as you!!

Where did i troll?

Whom did i trash?

I simply asked a question.

Why are you so defensive? It's not like i was being offensive in any way to cause your defensiveness.

I don't think a single GM would trade lehner for Ness regardless of positional need. How could i have asked them to explain why they took ness more politely? Would you have rather i added "please explain your answers"?

I made no such aggressive remarks so for you to call me a "trolling homer", and say "trashing" people is uncalled for and you couldn't be more wrong.

Can you please explain to me how i was being a homer, trolling, or trashing anybody. I would love to see this.

Well I can tell you 3/5 guys who voted Ness are Isles fans I believe, some guys just vote for their players, and that's it.

That's cool. I will admit to doing that often as well. I was asking to see if anyone would legit take ness, because i would love to hear/debate the reasoning. This is a messageboard afterall!

Would be cool if they admitted they chose ness without believing it.

I often do it where i think my player is losing the vote by more then the difference between the 2 players. Guilty as charged.
