The rosters never lock, its by player. So any player that is in can't be removed and any player that was on the bench can't be put in after the game starts. Goes for all game times.

This is the 2nd team I did this year that I waited til late and took Matt Ryan. I'm pretty high on him this year and think he's in for a huge year. One of my friends that I talk fantasy with a ton is wondering why I'm so high on him because he doesn't like him at all. I think he'll be top 7 or so this year.

ryan kinda sucks. He's basically Captain Checkdown. For fantasy purposes he's fine, but he's one of the last guys I'd ever want on my real life football team.

I had Ryan last year for a bit. He was decent enough. Then I ended up pulling off a massive trade that landed me Rogers and CJ for I don't remember what. Reeled off 5-6 straight after that, then lost in the semis by 5

I lost my finals last year on a couple of unfortunate things, but I can't recall exactly what they were. I think it had something to do with a player or two getting scratched like 5 minutes before kickoff and me not being around to change my lineup.

For Fantasy purposes, I think he's solid this year for sure. I took him in my main league this year for the same reasons TormenT mentioned. His numbers last year had him the #8 Fantasy QB in our league, and he was right there with Tony Romo (#7). All that was with an extremely slow start to his season (remember, there was a lockout last year and many offenses took some time to get better) and a rookie WR in Julio Jones who also had no offseason.

There seems to be more emphasis on the pass this season in Atlanta, and with Julio hitting his second year, there's no reason not to assume he won't have a good season.

What I really don't get, is all these Fantasy "experts" say that Julio is going to be huge (maybe #2/#3 WR overall) and that Roddy White will still be Top 10 / Top 15, and that Tony Gonzalez will also be solid yet....Matt Ryan won't? You can't have it both ways people. If those guys are going to have good seasons, the one throwing them the ball will too.

Of course, it's all conjecture like anything Fantasy related, but there's good reason for optimism.

seems pretty simple to me, the fantasy "experts" don't actually watch football. If you have two receivers who finish in top 15 and worthwhile TE, there's no way the QB isn't a top 10 guy unless he throws a whole ******** of INTs(which ryan won't do). Though, I'd say last season is about as good a season as ryan will ever have statistically..

Ryan will have some good stats as fantasy QB. In real life I wouldn't want him on my team...

I always laugh at calling these guys 'experts'. In reality, that's just kind of a marketing buzz word to get you to pay attention to what they are saying.

A better word for them would be scouts. They're paid to follow football with a fantasy mindset, just as Mel Kiper is paid to follow CFB with a draft mindset.

I disagree. I think this year he will surpass what he did last year. That's why I drafted him.

Atlanta will be using more 3 wide receiver sets with the change in offensive coordinator from Mularky to Koetter. The offense will be more explosive and with the maturation of Julio Jones, I see Ryan having his best season ever.

The offense isn't going to be much more explosive because ryan is the qb. Dude doesn't have the stones or ability to go down field consistently. He rarely throws further than 10-12 yards. Only way it will be explosive is if julio jones puts up a ****ton of YAC. I'll never understand the ryan hype, the guy fell into a team with weapons already in place and they added more, but he's not that great a quarterback as proven by the falcan'ts struggles in the postseason. When the pressure is on against another good team Ryan falls flat because he's a glorified game manager.

Well see this year. I think he'll pass for about 4400 yards and 35 TDs or so. I could care less how he does in the playoffs because fantasy doesn't go that long.

Surprised they don't like my receivers considering I have 3 1,000 yard receivers in my starting line up.

The thing is kinda stupid like that.

It said it didn't like me at QB but said it loves Newton and thinks he's in the top 3. So...???

lol used that website. It says i'm weak at qb and rb(agree with rb part). I have Eli Manning though, he's clearly not aaron rodgers or drew brees, but he's in that second tier of fantasy qb's and I'm absolutely stacked at receiver. It also said matt forte was "below average" but they have him ranked 5th...so not sure what that's all about.

Hey guys, we are one team short for our new keeper league on NFL.com in the Canucks forum. Anyone interested? The draft would be @ 6:30PM Pacific time Friday night.

I figure this is a good opportunity to maintain our mutual dislike for each other in case of a lockout.

I would but I'm already in 4 leagues this year. Good luck to whatever Blackhawks fan does it. You better win.

I've always used Yahoo in the past for my leagues, but I decided to give NFL.com a chance this year.

I'm registered for one of their prize leagues ($25 buy-in for a shot at an autographed football), so I thought I would just centralize all my leagues. We will see if I come to regret that decision

Just send me your e-mail and I'll flip you an invite.

I actually switched my main league to NFL.com this year. We used to go with CBS's "commissioner" league which cost $150 per year. We decided to go with a "for free" league and NFL looked pretty polished (although I know its new, and not as robust as ESPN/Yahoo yet). It does have some pretty slick features and I think will be one of the best platforms in the next year or two.
