It does have some pretty slick features and I think will be one of the best platforms in the next year or two.
Sportsline's (CBS) free set-up is god awful. I was in no money league with a buddy and pretty much gave up on it. Want to search the waiver wire for players? Good luck sifting through players, like a Ryan Leaf, that haven't played in years. I'd done ESPN for several and think it's great. Why ANYTHING has to be as bad as sportsline is beyond me.

You got taken to the cleaners in paying for your fantasy hosting. There are enough decent free ones out there that it shouldn't even be a consideration.

I think CBS has the best site for fantasy football.

I never experienced anything even remotely like you described. While the site aesthetics itself looked a tad dated, I always found the player info and everything to work just fine. The only reason we left was because we didn't want to pay the $150 any more. The reason we did the $150 in the first place is that we had a lot of custom settings and options that other Free leagues didn't offer. We decided to abandon them and go to NFL.

But whatever you experienced was certainly far different than what I did in the 3 years I was with CBS.

CBS is the best fantasy site out there. I never used their free version so maybe that one sucks.

Ridley starting for Orkin next Sunday, lol. I get MJD not wanting to go through preseason because of the contract dispute, but I don't understand why he'd miss game checks.

He's trying to prove a point and keep his pride I guess. I think he's just an idiot.

Even if he comes back, he's not going to be in game shape by kickoff next week.

He's definitely an idiot if he drags it into the regular season. But I think the Jags have pissed all over him. They should have just given him a boost on the two years he has left. He's given them a lot.

Plus more likely to get injured. Who knows if they will even play him as their #1 if Jennings has a good game or 2.

Probably not but after 1600 yards on a bum knee, I can't doubt this guy, he's a freak.

Maybe but up until the last few years none of the free sites provided anywhere near the level of customization. Heck, many of them didn't even have live scoring or it was always off.

You shouldn't pay for a site for a $25 league. If your league is 100+ it's nominal at that point.

I am in a league that used Fanball for many years. It was like $50 but the best thing about that site was the message board. It was set up similar to this with threads, ect... the ability to imbed videos and pictures. Great for trash talk. It also kept a history of performance vs. teams over the years and would sum it up before every game. Player news was also great.

This.

When we started on the CBS $150 league years ago, none of the other sites had the customization we needed. We had 12 guys, so we were easily more than able to cover the costs. However, as other sites caught up, we left. Don't see why this is such an epic failure....

I think he's partially getting some real bad advice from his agent. Hint: The agent is the same agent to represented Forte. I heard Forte wanted to sign months ago, but his agent almost cost him his payday. This agent looks to be a real moron and doesn't rep a lot of the Top Tier guys (for good reason)

Well, the Jags aren't willing to give him a penny. They want him to play out his final two years and then I guess they'd just let him walk because if they had any intention of keeping him beyond that, it would make more sense to just give him a 4 or 5 year deal now. He'll be 29 after this deal, so he'll probably latch on with a good team desparate for a running back like Green Bay.

People that have been doing FF for 10 years know the differences. I would pay just have all my leagues on one site.

There was nothing close for a long time to CBS. Other sites are catching up and offering almost the same for much less. Now we get in to aps as well and how well they work with the sites. Sportsline again was the 1st and best at this. I want to know how my team is doing if I'm at the damn bar or need to make a last minute line up change.

I guess before live scoring was free it made sense. Yahoo's has been 3 for at least 3-4 years now, I believe, but before then it was pretty annoying having to look at do the math yourself if you didn't want to wait til midnight.

Before that Yahoo gave individuals the option to pay for live scoring. I'm in a Yahoo league that still costs $50 because the free doesn't allow as much customization. I want to say that didn't allow PPR, ect.

Last time we used free you couldn't dictate changes to the waiver process. Could not add points for distance TD's. Could not distinguish between TD's for individual players and Defense/SPT. There was some other stuff as well.

CBS allows you to do a blind bid for FA's. That way it's not first guy on the computer. I'm not a huge fan for waiver wire last to first. A ton of big names come up the first few weeks due to injuries and you're screwed for winning a game. Blind bid adds some strategy. We do an auction any way in that league with keepers, ect.

We did some bonuses that other leagues cant do, although we have done away with them now. The biggest customizations were to the Waiver process (having all non-rostered players always on waivers) and we really liked that CBS combined Rushing and Receiving yards as one stat, instead of split. With the NFL moving to a passing league, and RBs catching short passes in place of rushes, it was a nice feature to have. There were a few others, but those were the big ones.
