Don't really have a reason, but I always root for Clijsters.

Edit: Duval looks so nervous.
Same here, Kim is my favorite player on the women's tour. Going to miss her. Heard she is playing mixed with one of the Bryan brothers so maybe she can win the mixed tournament. So sad she is retiring.

Nice, didn't hear that about the mixed tournament.

Down 3-2 in first set.

Duval looked extremely nervous early, but now it's Clijsters making a lot of errors.

Not sure if it's just for people in the states, but the US Open site has matches streaming live, good quality, if you want to give that a try.

Thanks, but I'm not home and don't have a computer. It just says they've lost the signal and are trying to get it back. I'm surprised the power hasn't gone out, the sky was so black it was like night.

Satellite is back for Fed/Young. How many games does Young get? I say 7.

I'll give him 3.

Edit: I am dumb, tried to get cute with my prediction.

Surely you mean how many games will Fed get, right?

What a masterful second set from Russell. So many perfect drop shots and volleys. Set the points up perfectly. Simon is usually either extremely aggressive or (more often) extremely passive. It has certainly been the latter so far.

It would be a horrendous loss for Cilic. I don't like either player - especially Matosevic - so I only watched a couple games in the middle of the set. Cilic is prone to long patches of brain-dead play and copious errors, but he still shouldn't lose to Matosevic no matter what.

As long as Tommy makes it, I'll forget all about it and applaud your foresight.

Fed isn't usually the type to bagel someone he has never played right out of the gate.

The momentum of the match has decidedly turned in Simon's favor. A long deuce game on Russell's serve at 4-2, he wasted many game points and ultimately surrendered the break, Simon held and now breaks at love. Russell launched a ball out of the stadium and got a warning for it, and obscenities could be heard on the changeover. He's now getting treatment to his wrist it appears.

Cilic broken at love at *2-5 in the second. I'll have to watch this one now.

Little late to the party today. Matosevic up two sets now, a 6-2 shellacking of Cilic in the parts that I saw of the second set...and Young just broke Roger to get back on serve in the second. OOOOHHHH, scary ...Young's good fortune lasted mere minutes, 4-2...now that I'm watching the Cilic match more closely, a lot of the wounds seem to be self inflicted.

Wow, Russell fought back, breaking Simon twice and winning three games in a row to win the third set. Simon now exploding on the umpire. I'm quite enjoying this match. The tournament referee has now come on court and he and the umpire are having a discussion with Russell. I'm not quite sure what's going on. They could be discussing the treatment Russell received on the changeover, or whatever has made Simon so upset.

Russell broken to start the fourth and told the umpire on the changeover "you bend the rules so all the top guys..." You don't say?

The Nike logo the shoes looks so wrong. Not to mention the tricoleur theme - I don't like it.

This tomato can almost beat prime Guga at Roland Garros. Show a little respect for once.
