Ellis, alot of people seem to think he's the next MAB.

However I think his hockey IQ is way to high to turn up like that, he'll learn to be extremely effective with his size.

Never seen Elliott play, but Ellis in his final year with Windsor was unbelievable, and he got the hardware to back it up

Ellis, the potential is their and the ceiling is high. The problem with Ellis is that he may not be able to realize his full potential.

With Elliott his potential may be lower, but I feel for him it'll be easier to hit his ceiling.

I'd take the Ellis simply due to the fact his potential is greater, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Elliott turns out to be the better player.

I feel like neither of these guys will reach their offensive ceilings in the NHL. I voted Ellis just because of what he did in junior but it could probably go either way.

Elliott needs to put on some weight to be effective on both sides of the ice which thankfully from an Avs perspective can be done. Unfortunately for Ellis he may just not have the size to play defence in the big league.

Ellis. I think he's going to be an absolute stud.

Better in what sense? Ellis will probably put up the better offensive numbers while Elliot will be the better overall player.

I had concerns about Ryan's size. Then, I saw him in action in the NHL last year. He played protected minutes, but he looked fine out there. His shot is spectacular. We used to think Franson had a knack for getting pucks through the thickest of traffic, but then we saw Ellis do it better. His skating isn't as big of an issue as I thought it might be. He doesn't shy away from trying to play physical even though his size makes it tough. His hockey sense is pretty damn good, too. The guy doesn't really need to be too awfully big since he can see plays developing, and he knows where to be because of it.

I think if he can come in and build on what he did last season Ellis is going to surprise some people this year.

Ellis vs Elliott

I think they will both have good careers. I think Elliott has greater speed, a better wrist shot and an unbelievable desire to improve everyday. Ellis has had some great performances on the world stage w the Canada Jr's and did great last year when he got minutes. Ellis got to play on a better team with better defensemen when comparing Nashville to Colorado...that might have made things easier regarding systems, break out passes and defensive pairings. Elliott has the bigger upside.

To be fair, he played pretty much all of his games with one of Gill, Bouillon or Hillen. Weber and Suter were both on the blueline, sure, but he wasn't seeing ice time with them, at least not ES.

Ellis did play protected minutes, though. Trotz was able to rely heavily on his top two pairings, and he was able to give Ellis PP time and Gill PK time while limiting their ES minutes. That's something to consider when making comparisons.
