Hansen+5th for Shawn Thornton

Shawn Thornton is 35 but is 1 year removed from 20 points and last year hit 20 fights for the second time in his career. A 4th line of Kassian-Lapierre-Thornton would be interesting and could put up some points.

Why not? This team needs more toughness and size, Kassian was a step in the right direction.

Yuck. What an ugly proposal. Hansen for S. Thornton is brutal enough but we have to add a 5th?! Ewww...

Not who can put up 20 points and be one of the best fighters in the game at the same time. Although a one-dimensional enforcer wouldn't bother me, Gillis would never pick one up.

There is more to hockey than toughness and size. Hansen brings much more than Thornton skill-wise, and is signed to a great contract for two more seasons.

Honestly, I feel that in a couple of years, Weise could be the Thornton player you want.

Because hansen is a good player on a cheap contract. He brings more than thornton's toughness. And canucks adding a pick? are you completely ignorant of player value?

so trade a guy who produces well on the 3rd line and can play on the 2nd line in spot duty, for a 4th liner with very little left in his career? and you want us to add a pick, makes sense to me.

Hansen is 100 times the hockey player compared to Thornton. As others have said, this is a terrible proposal.
