What jersey # are you/would you be?

Inspired by a conversation in a different thread, I'm curious: Which number are you/would you be when you play hockey?

I go with the oddball 86. YOB, and I just like the number. It's not an "unattractive" number IMO, so to speak. I don't think I've ever seen anyone with that number either.

#96.

Always wore that number in soccer, hockey, handball and other sports I play.

I have always chosen #91 since high school. And no... I graduated high school in 92, but also started college in 91. It more relates to a running joke about the nickname I picked up... in high school. (see username...)

My hockeyfinder jersey is
BOZAK
91

The geek out jersey that I ordered is also:
BOZAK
91

But it isn't here yet, so I can't post pictures.

It's awesomesauce, though... I'll wear it for pickup games/tournaments.

If/when I start playing rec hockey, I'm gonna be #42 to honor Douglas Adams. (It's my pro's number in NHL 12, too.)

If not that, then I'd probably pick something mathematically pleasing like a power of 2 (1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64) or a multiple of 12 (12, 24, 36, 48, 72, 96).

I've always worn #9. As a kid I was a big Modano fan and also my uncle work #9.

Sometimes I've worn random numbers...
#67 for a year (before Pouliot was here)
#16 for Brett Hull
#17 for Brett Hull
#13 for Mike Cammalleri

hockeyfinder has a "beginner" game on friday night. i think i've become the captain now...

although, it isn't really a true "beginner" game any more as it is more of a faster lvl 1 to 2 game. I've played JMS Lower Level Community skates that are slower...

My summer work ends on Friday and I've got a month before classes start so I might actually try and get something like a JMS Lv. 1 in there somewhere. (Still can't go backwards, so I hope that wouldn't be an issue...) But I don't actually have a #42, so I'd be that goon showing up in an NHL jersey. I think both of my dark jerseys even have names on the back, haha.

I would like to wear #48. I get it randomly in the first Be a Pro mode and I kept it. I cannot argue with other sports 'cause I'm only playing solo sports ...

I've always been #64 in high school sports, and that's what I would likely be again if asked.

#21, it's my lucky number. It used to be Koivu's number before he switched to #9.

Was #63 in everything. If that number wasn't allowed then I went with #31.

For pickup... Go with a cheap practice jersey set. White/Dark.

I just ordered the black/yellow, because I loaned my decent reversible to my neighbor and I don't want to wear the laminated hockeyfinder customs for pickup.

JMS has canceled all level 1s for the summer. There was a huge amount of drama surrounding the Friday night Level 1 game, and Barb basically took her toys and went home.

The hockeyfinder friday night game would be about your best (and possibly only) August option, at least until JMS pulls their collective heads out of their ***** and reinstates the level 1 games. Although, I've been told that I won't be "Level 1" in JMS any more... which is a /facepalm...

Skating backwards... Not necessary, really, for pickup. I can't skate backwards at all reliably and I do fine. My forward skating, agility and overall mobility make up for it. As long as I don't get stuck on D for beer league, the games go smoother. In pickup, when the opposing team has the puck and are slowly entering the zone, I will do a bit of backwards skating from a stop as my transitions from backwards to forwards are really smooth, but I'm still rough on the forwards to backwards.

My spin from going backwards to forward and then poke checking the puck away from the carrier is, and I quote: "Annoying as hell."

Wore #9 in all sports up until about Bantams.

Switched to #7 around that time. Wore #97 in AAA leagues.

Changed to #11 throughout high school.

Randomly wear #41 in most all beer leagues now. No idea why, sort of like the number. Skoula must have made me like it...

Yes, Kurri maybe. But I've had it in volleyball and floorball. And I like it.
