I agree.
just have the "war room" contact the game officials and then make the team with the offender start the following period down a man for two minutes. if it happens in the third then at the first available whistle.

Yeah, I was outraged. A complete phantom call. I didn't realize getting mugged was a legit reason to get called for diving.

says the canuck fan.

diving never was part of the game, shouldn't now be part of the game and IS something you can get rid of.
and you have to do it soon before the game gets any closer to mens soccer.

And yes get that diving out of here.
You'd have to be a massive homer to actually argue against him being on the list.

Skinner, Eric Staal, Letang, Subban, Crosby to name a few.

Yeah, c'mon. If you're gonna do it...

...do it right.

Edit- Upon rewatching this clip, these broadcasters handle this dive excellently and diplomatically. I don't like the attitude that "it's a part of the game," however.

I was at this game. I went nuts. God i hate this stuff.

I agree on the list not being the solution, everyone knows who does it. Just don't give them the benefit of the doubt and tell the refs to call it more.

The majority of the players coming up in this thread are North American guys.

At this point, I have zero confidence in the NHL to enforce any rules to improve the game. The refs are just content to let a lot of the crap go without penalties in the fear of 'deciding the game'. Therefore, we have soccer on ice.

Spezza? really? I remember the Pens-Sens series from 2010, Spezza was an artist on that one.

The fact of the matter is, every team has divers on it. Divers, as in multiple. Some players are more blatant than others, but over the course of the season, players do what they have to to gain an advantage.

This list will be pointless. It won't "embarrass" anyone, because it'll simply be the same thing this topic has become.

"That player on the opposing team dives! Call him and give my team a powerplay! Then put his name on that list!"

...

"Wait? Why is [insert teammate/self] on the list? What a joke! Now the refs are going to **** us because they're going off this list!"

I like this list.
Subban, Sedins, Kesler, Brown, just very quickly off the top of my head. And yes, Marchand is our team's "diver" but he doesn't a whole lot. He's an agitator that crosses the line and you may hate him for that, so go ahead.

I never thought of Staios as a diver. I'm sure you could find isolated incidents on many players. It's the repeat offenders that get under my and I believe most peoples' skin.

Skinner is a heinous diver as well.

Marchand dives, but not as much as many people think. Everybody just hates him (rightfully so) so they lump him in with that crew.

I believe it is safe to say this is a tiny minority opinion among Canucks fans. Most of us love Bieksa, and would much rather see less diving, from all players.

great news and i hope they follow through on this. suspend guys who dive. diving is an embarrassment to the game and it's a slap in the face to see NHL players dive. this isn't soccer, i can't stand that ****.

hopefully Marchand gets the memo, he was embarrassing to watch vs the caps last playoffs
