The cap has been set at $6,000,000. I do not see any player making more per year than these two, which is wonderful. Hopefully the Nuge and Yak can live with that.

Exactly what I expected. Great signing. It will be much easier to keep both Hall and Eberle for their career with Ebs coming up for renewal first.

Now Smid.

Makes sense that he signed for 6 and not for 7. It was probably the sticking point on why he didn't get 6.25M. Tambellini couldn't win the argument that Hall and Eberle were equal talents.

Upper echelon shutdown defenseman? Yeah. He deserves that money.

look at this list and consider relative cap hit and that Smid's next contract will all be covering UFA years:

meh. contract is not as good value as halls.

One less UFA year for same cap hit.
Although having the two contracts expire in different year does have value.

I am happy to see Hall and Ebs stick with the team for the long term. Hopefully RNH will sign for the same extension as Hall next summer (CBA, etc being equal).

The term is great, but the money is a bit too much, IMHO, especially if the cap goes down. Eberle's last season may have been an aberration statistically and he may well regress to being a 50-60 point player. But time will tell.

Decent deal. I honestly expected a little more than Hall due to Eberle having a better sophomore season but i'm guessing that the caphit might have been slightly more if the deal was for one more year. I like the Hall deal better because i feel that he is and will continue to be the more impactful player but it's good to have Eberle locked up for somewhat reasonable dollars.
Anyway, pretty solid summer for Tambo. Draft Yakupov, sign Schultz, don't re-sign Gagner long term and get Hall and Eberle locked up. I feel like the team is lacking going into next season but the long term prospects look excellent for this team.
Now lets hope that we get to see these guys play together this season, i have my doubts.

I love the deal for Eberle. I wonder if he got one less year because he is older than Hall?

I just dont see this. He is too smart and his hands are too good. I see him getting 60+ every year.

Worked out well for us.

I think we overpaid Hall a little bit based on his potential, but we saved a few bucks on Eberle going on the Skinner/Tavares contracts.

Happy to have both for the next 7-8 years, that's the most important part.

Hall, Eberle (and Nuge) are our present and future. 6 million per is more than fair for both sides. We're fully invested for the long haul now... if it doesn't work out it doesn't work out.

Probably because you don't want to have to renew those contracts in the same year. Stagger out the contracts.

The cap won't go down significantly without some mechanism to mitigate the effect of current contracts. Too many teams are too locked in and close to the cap for that to happen. Obviously the player's are going to push to keep the cap high, and the owners aren't going to push an agreement that screws over their own teams.

Lot of money and term for both, but all contracts have some element of risk. These are two guys I'd be comfortable betting on going forward. Just hope Taylor can stay healthy.
