Yan says he's going NTDP.

Yan committed to the NTDP, but who knows. He was ineligible for the OHL draft. Some kind of rare technicality with his dual Russia/US citizenship. Any CHL team that wants him will have to select him in the import draft, meaning he could end up pretty much anywhere. Same deal with Ivan Provorov.

There is a good chance Hanifin plays in the Q at some point, but probably not next season. He'll be a pretty high draft pick.

I agree w/u Bonney and yes this team is loaded.

Q for you: How does USAH invite a kid and he is a "no show" to the camp? I am a bit surprised on the level of entitlement and indecision going on both with the players and the program. This should be a no brainer

Is this a general question or are you referring to Troy Henley this go around? I think the NTDP isn't afraid to invite "long shots" because they're confident they can sell the program to anyone and having the best players there is good for the evaluation process. They tried to sell Ebert on the program when he showed up and players like Galchenyuk and Henley backed out because they told USAH they were going to the OHL. It doesn't hurt to try and I appreciate the players that are open with the NTDP regarding their intentions like Gally and Henley because it gives another kid a shot to make it (like this year where Henley's replacement - Charlie McAvoy - ended up making the team).

Agree.

Henley deserved the invite based on merit. Good on him for declining and opening up a spot for another player, other players may not have done so.

Bonney I think cleared up what you were saying. I read it as "invite guys who didn't tryout but still got NTDP offers (i.e. Luke Kirwan and Colin White)."

I was under the assumption that both players where injured.

Correct. They attended camp but White didn't play and Kirwan only played in 1 scrimmage.

Both were injured. Both had been watched all year. Both will end up top 6 forwards. It was the right move by the ntdp.

Not sure where to ask this, but what was the deal with Keaton Thompson at the U-18?

Was getting 1st round pub' all season, then it seems he wasn't even in the top 6 in the gold medal game, did he get hurt?

Seemed to be among the low minute men for the US all tournament.

No injury as far as I'm aware. He was just playing awful and didn't deserve the ice time he was getting.

Wasn't injured, he played in the Championship against Canada. He's a player to watch and NHL draft year is with 97s. (late 96 birthyear)

Sounds like Chris Wilkie is leaving the NTDP after one year. Tough blow for USAH.

Do they bring in a forward already playing in the USHL..ie: Seamus Malone or Kyle Conner?

Austin Poganski might be the top choice, if he wants to join.

If I had to guess, I would say Victoria of the WHL. He was a 4th round draft pick of the Royals.

I believe his dad also played in the WHL.

According to UND beat writer @scholossmanGF, Wilkie is "definitely not going Major Junior Route"

We will see what USHL team takes him tomorrow in the Phase 2 draft. It starts at 4:00 CDT

A person on a USHL forum I follow has posted that MacInnis, Wesley, and Milano are also leaving NTDP. Hasnt been verified but if true, this is a big hit.

The person was citing the players are unhappy with Coach Cole
