Ducks would not add to Bobby Ryan. Would probably want Jets to add and he is signed for another 3 years.. lol You want to sign him to a long term deal with 3 years left on his current?

The reason Ryan hasnt been moved is because teams are scared he is just going to walk when his contract is done. The ducks would have to add, but more to do with contracts then actual talent. I think Ryan does have more trade value but not with his current contract situation.

If people are worried about a player walking 3 years from now they shouldn't be GM's.

The reason Ryan hasn't been moved is because the Ducks don't want to move him. Simple as that. Ryan's contract is a steal of a deal for the next 3 years.

The reason Ryan hasnt been traded is because no one has offered enough, giving up prime assets for a player that has a 50/50 chance of walking is absolutely terrible asset management.

I'd love him on the Oilers, but we don't have the assets to get him (out of assets we would be willing to trade) and we can't afford to tie up more money in our top 6 wingers.

with 3 years left on a deal that is more then adequate time to make a player feel comfortable. if it was 1 year then yes there is some concern. but 3 years is a long time and a lot can happen.

GM's give up prime/quality assets all the time for rentals or players with 1-2 years left on a deal. Now all the sudden a player has 3 years left and on a steal of a deal is an issue? Lmao...

I must have missed the memo where Kane was available. What's even the point of this thread? To low-ball the Jets?

I agree with you but every player and situation is different, the amount of quality assets a team has to give up to obtain a player of Ryans quality could potentially ruin an organization moving forward, if they player does in fact move on and they retain nothing for him. Ryan has publicly stated he wants to play in Philly, I wouldnt run the risk either.

I wouldn't mind including Leddy and Danault + for Kane, but not willing to give up a core piece from CHI.

That's the rub. Kane would instantly become a core piece in Chicago if he were on the team. That's why his (and Ryan's) return in a trade will include a player who is considered a core piece or high probability of developing into a core piece.

He would, but if we traded a core piece for him, we would down grade our team, so there's no point. For the record, I think Leddy can become a core piece for sure.

I don't believe the rumors that Kane has asked for a trade but if he is to be moved what would it take from Anaheim?

The only untouchables are Getzlaf, Perry & Fowler. Ryan isn't untouchable but I don't see either fanbase agreeing on who should add to their respective player so any discussion around Bobby would be a waste of time.

I see Kane and Ryan as even players, straight up swap is the way that should be. Ryan is proven more while Kane is coming into his own.
