Zibanejad isn't really comparable to Seguin at this time.

You do realize that the Kessel trade wasn't for Seguin, right? It was for a 1st Round Draft Pick. Not even me, a Sens fan, thought that the Leafs would suck THAT much that year.

Winnipeg:

Ryan
Lydman
1st round 2013
Maroon OR Friberg

Anaheim:

Kane
Burmistrov

Winnipeg gets a first-line PF who is a consistent 30G guy, a veteran D who IMO is due to bounce back after a bad year after surgery (WPG needs a shutdown guy, and if he doesn't work out, he's UFA end of season), a 1st in a deep draft and a LW prospect choice (who would rank basically at the top of their LW prospect depth chart).

Anaheim gets someone who IMO fits Getz/Perry's game better and can replace Ryan's goals (and surpass them IMO) and a 2nd-line C who IMO is poised for a breakout and very underrated still.

I'd also mention, Anaheim needs marketable faces with Selanne (one day) retiring and while Getz is ok with the media, Perry has a big zero for personality and marketability. Despite reports he is a giant d-bag, Kane can fill the role as he has a lot of charisma.

You admit Anaheim gets the 2 best players.
I like Ryan but he's UFA in 3 & his big asset is as a trade chip to a team he really wants to go to if traded. Kane (when signed) will be around a lot longer. & your reports of him being a d-bag are wrong. He writes a blog @ the Wpg. Free Press that is well received by hockey fans.
The Jets deepest position is D so no need for Lydman as a rental. But Sbisa might make someone else expendable.

Maroon & Friberg aren't even tempting. Replace them with Holland.

So the tally for Kane & Burmi would be Ryan, Sbisa, Holland & the 1st rounder (although the Jets might add an expiring contract to make the roster limit even out).

I doubt something like this happens as the buzz around town is that Kane wants to stay & that the #s are very close.

This guy seem to get it. If you're putting together a package and it includes more than 3 pieces for Kane, you're doing it wrong. If you're offering players who are a year from UFA, you're doing it wrong. If you're offering prospects and none of them are your teams top prospect, you're doing it wrong. If you're comparing Kane to Nash or Chevy to Howson, you're out of your mind. The best comparison is the Kessel trade and the value should be set squarely at two top-10 picks or the equivalent in prospects.

Zibanejad is a must. Puempel isn't what I'd be looking for though to be honest, I think he'd have to be improved upon. I'd pass but it's much better than most on here.

Then you get Kane.

You're not getting him for the garbage you posted.
Considering 3 of these players are already better than Kane I dont think so thanks, As for Yak some are saying he could turn out to be the best pure scorer of the four, so no thanks. Frankly I dont want Kane anyway. I dont like the idea of guys that have questions about their attitude being in the locker room with our young stars. Yes, I know nothing has been proven but lets face it, usually in the past it has proven out that when there is smoke there is fire.

Instead of taking their 2014 2nd (their 2013 2nd is gone) we could offer some of our picks in 2013 so we can move up in the draft as well. Maybe our 2nd and 3rd for their 1st. Or our 2nd and Chicagos 2nd for their 1st.

I have to completely agree with you. Not "better" in every aspect, but at best it's a lateral trade for both teams. I just don't see the point.

The Oilers have the assets to get it done, but they won't give them up and I don't think they want to go after other teams RFAs when we have a few potential high profile targets of our own.

Do you really expect people to take this post serious when that is at best, debatable?

I mean obviously Eberle had a better year, but who's ceiling is higher is debatable. Eberle didn't score 30 till he was 21. Kane did it as a 20 year old. Eberle had a 43 point season as a 20 year old as opposed to Kane's 57 point season.

Hall and Kane are on a similar level with Kane bringing the physical play with perhaps, slightly less scoring.

RNH, can we let the kid play more then one season? I mean, I think he'll be better then Kane in the long run, but right now might be stretching it.

I actually think this trade makes some sense, jets prob go with tinordi as he fits their needs more.but realistically it would take max patchs instead of Eller to make this deal, kristo holds little to no value.

Value-wise I hope this is pretty close, but I don't know if I'd pull the trigger on either side.

Ive seena few peg fans say that he wants to stay but if I were a fan of the team I would start questioning that since this is the third time these rumours have popped up. I'm not sure on Wpg's needs but heres something Detroit might offer

Nyquist
Pullkinen
1st rounder

if Winnipeg wants an NHL roster player as well you could see someone like Patrick Eaves or Abdelkader on top of a package similar to this. And if a good NHLer has to come back someone like Franzen or Filppula could go the other way

Horribly bad for Winnipeg. Would consider it a bit if Trouba was not included.
