I think I'm offering a little much from a Buffalo perspective, but you have to overpay to get this type of player.
Vanek+Leopold+2nd/sundher I would do. Vanek+Sekera+Adam I wouldnt

Remember that it's extremely unlikely all those prospects will go on to become impact players in the NHL. Again, take the Kessel trade as an example. If Boston even got 3rd overall pick instead of 2nd in 2010, that trade would look pretty reasonable now (pending the development of the other players). While it's obviously too early to call any of the other top-10 picks busts or speculate that Hamilton won't be awesome, you swap Seguin with Johansen for example and suddenly Burke doesn't look as crazy. Two top-10 picks, aside from the sure-fire straight-to-the-NHL prospects available at number one or two overall, is a very fair price for a young elite-level goal-scorer. Likely half of the top-10 picks in any given year, especially outside of the top 2, won't develop in to impact players in the NHL. Aside from the uncertainty of their development, there's also the time-value of it to consider. You're getting a player that would immediately step in and perform at a high level for players that likely won't contribute in any meaningful way for years.

TLDR: the package I proposed isn't even what I'd consider overpayment. The risk of all those players turning out better than Kane is minimal compared to the risk that none of them become significant NHLers.
The package you proposed included: arguably our best prospect (a guy who has the potential to be a first line scorer), a big young defenseman who can hit and put up points and has already proven he can do it in the NHL, and our shiny new toy from last draft (who projects as the physical shutdown center we desperately need).

Again, I'd offer Armia ++. Those two would not be the pluses though. I'd do Armia + choice of JGL/Pysyk + a pick...And probably + some salary too, so maybe Leopold?

Van-win.

To Vancouver:
Evander Kane

To Winnipeg:
Jordon Schroeder
Chris Tanev
2013 First Rd. Pick

I know 90% of the people come on here to try and downgrade EVERY trade, but if you don't think it's fair please tell me what you would do to make it even, IMHO it's pretty fair and it will help both teams.

If I'm Winnipeg and dealing a 21 yr old stud, I want a young stud back. Not 2-3 very nice pieces.
I don't want fair. I want deal that's too good for me to refuse.

I don't know about the value, but I'd say Vancouver still has to add a little.

Also, isn't there a Kane proposal thread?

It'll take a hell of an offer, one that most likely shouldn't be made, to get Kane out ofmWinnipeg. Nothingis going to satisfy Jets fans because theres no reason to trade him.

It's not a very fair deal, Vancouver needs to add, Schroeder isn't a very valuable piece. I don't think Winny would be interested in one late 1st round pick...

Maybe 2 1sts, Tanev and Gaunce. Still probably not enough.

You'd have to actually make Winnipeg better, you didn't even try to.

Doesn't matter. He's under their control for four more years. If he still wants out then, they could get just as good of a deal. If a young stud isn't coming back I (and hopefully Cheveldayoff) are not interested.

It is speculated, and it's been taken as somewhat of a fact now. Same scenario as Ryan except Ryan publicly said he was upset with his name in rumors. Even if he wanted out, Jets have total control right now.

Don't know if you heard, but Kane hasn't asked to be traded and the two parties are negotiating. Bogosian didn't sign until just prior to training camp last year; the Jets take their time with these things.

If Vancouver has any chance of trading for Kane it's going to be centered around Edler

I get that the theme of the proposal is similar to the last two discussed with Buffalo and Ottawa in this thread but Vancouver really doesn't have any good prospects as far as I'm concerned. Schroeder is not a top prospect and it's looking quite likely he'll never be a full-time NHLer. Again, if I'm looking for two top-10 quality prospects, Vancouver can't even offer up one.

I don't think the value is too bad but I actually don't think it really works for either team. Winnipeg is loaded with offensive D while NYR are loaded with defensive D. While Del Zotto is a good piece to get back, I don't think the Jets want to give up from an area of weakness (top-6 scoring) to further bolster an area of strength (offensive D). That's aside from the fact that Stuart is irreplaceable within the Jets d-core as almost all our D prospects are more offensively minded as well.

What about something around Kreider and Stepan?

Iginla is too old to fit what Winnipeg is trying to do.

Bishop was one of the best goalies in the A last year, played great in Ottawa, is the the tallest goalie to ever play in the NHL and is an automatic great backup with the potential at 25 to be a quality starting goaltender. Maidens was a first round talent that had a bad injury in his draft year, pushing him to a 3rd round pick. Zibanejad is what he is. One of the best prospects in hockey, drafted by a staff that has been exceptional at drafting, with all the tools to be an elite player in the NHL. I can understand if Jets fans don't like the deal because of so much contingent on potential, but as a Sens fan this would be the deal that I think is fair and makes the most sense given the state of our team.
If we got Kane for Zib, Bishop and Maidens I'd consider it a steal.

Jets don't need Bishop (or another goalie), so I don't think Ottawa is really open to including another young prospect there. That deal would be a steal for Ottawa, don't see Winnipeg doing it.

If I was the GM of the Jets I would come back with Zib and Cowen.

If that wasn't going to work for the Sens, I would move on to where there was a better fit.
