I hope Conn Smythe's famous words are kept in a prominent position, as they have been since the 1930s.

I actually despise this sign. Find it to be extremely negative and may garner a "play not to lose" instead of a play to win mentality. Each time the players leave the room, the word "DEFEAT" is prominently displayed. Hope that RC gets rid of it.

Step 1, of instilling confidence, and a sign of new ways to do things.

With hockey on hold, why not work on the periphery?

I really like "hero's come and go, legends are forever" that would go well with the history the leafs have.

I think everyone should get to have a motto over their locker spot, and then the empty space should be filled with the top motto/speech's, and then a picture of the Cup on the door.

Not sure why you'd read it that way? One of the best lines out there is "to you from failing hands we pass the torch". Would you read "failure" out of that whole quote?

It would be awesome if each stall was themed after the greatest leafs to ever play. There would be the Sittler locker, the Ace Bailey Locker, the Clark locker... If that doesn't give you perspective nothing will.

This all reminds me of a joke I made up many years ago, in fact it was the only joke I ever made up.

Leaf sign in dressing room:

"Defeat does not rest lightly on their shoulders"

Habs sign in dressing room:

"With failing hands we pass the torch"

Bruins sign in dressing room:

"Don't pee in the shower"

Edit: it really is funny after about 7 shots of Johnny Walker Red.

If you're going to re-word it, please don't butcher it.

When a team hasn't won the cup in 40+ years you change everything, including the dressing room

Does this apply to the Raptors dressing room also?

Haha, yeah good point. Maybe they should use "patience" as the slogan.

I'm willing to try anything.

Do you really believe this? When was the last time slogans and a new carpet made you better at what you do?

"To our wives and girlfriends, may they never meet."

Ok, maybe not so inspirational.

How about something from Charlie Sheen?

"WINNING!"

They should strip the away dressing room down to bare bones. Plant some porter potties in there if someone on the away team needs to go

Well that may have been true a year or so ago, and while we do thank Dion for deep sixing GaGa in the room, according to THN one Mr Joffrey Lupul now is the stereo guy in the leafs room

No Bieber, no Jay-Z and definitely no Gaga

Should just paint it blue and move on. This team has done squat in decades. Really, they don't deserve getting anything done to that room. They should have just transplanted the room from the old Garden with the tight quarters and let them play hockey. When a team is bad you just try anything. Didn't the Raptors have a big change and even changed the playing floor? Funny thing is, Lakers and Celtics rarely, if ever make a change. Yankees after building a new stadium will never change it, probably not the Dodgers either. Leafs on the other hand? Change everything every year and hope.

Fine example of the endless negativity on this board. Who gives a crap about this? If they want change the atmosphere so be it, nobody said this change will make them a winning team. If it helps with a better mood, then so be it. I really don't give a rats ass.

As you have said they haven't done squat so that's when you make changes. Doing nothing doesn't help the situation now does it?

This is one from my armies days during recruit training "when you think you can't do it reach inside your zipper and grab a hold of yourself!!!"

Not negative at all brain child. Until they actually make the playoffs and make some noise there is no reason to make the interior more plush or 'new age'. Great teams can play out of a crappy locker room. Guys like you need to be coddled or the sun hurts your eyes.
