Sorry about all the polls, everybody. Just hide all of them but the current ones if you want, that should clear up some of the monotony that I'm lacing these boards with.
Results so far:
1. Los Angeles Kings - 64.29%
2. Vancouver Canucks - 58.82%
3. St. Louis Blues - 90.91%
4. Chicago Blackhawks - 57.14%
5. San Jose Sharks - 30.00% (Tied with the Wild, but I let Trollinen pick the leader as he was neutral between the San Jose/Minnesota camp)
6. Minnesota Wild - 61.11%
7. Nashville Predators - 36.84%
Dallas missed the playoffs by 6 points last year, and added a 75-point forward and a 50-point forward, while Ribeiro and Roy is basically a wash. This is a team with Brendan Morrow on its third line. Lehtonen continues to fly under the radar and silently puts up VERY impressive numbers. Between Daley, Goligoski, and Larsen they've got a solid D. This is the league's third most improved team after Minny and us. We felt that OUR improvements were enough to bump us from 12th in the East to 5th or 6th (points-wise). The league's next best improved team can't even jump from 9th to 8th?
That was a brutal lineup last year, and only made the playoffs because Mike Smith played at a level I doubt he can continue. Now, they've lost their 2nd and 3rd best players from last year. Unless you're hoping more than predicting, I don't see how you make that pick.
