Cereda tearing up Swiss League
Our 1st rounder in 1999 is tearing up the Swiss League.
He has 1 goal, 0 assists, 1 point in 29 games along with 6 penalty minutes.
What a stud.

Give the guy a break. It must be tough to overcome a heart surgery.

his coach must not be giving him enough ice time. :lol
or maybe his linemates are slugs. :lol
or maybe the whole league is too scrambly for him. maybe he's just too good for this league, therefore he's terrible in it. :lol

I sense someone taking potshots at last game's four-point player.

not specifically at stajan, or any prospect.
at the fans who make the ridiculous excuses for them.

I will say that I think Stajan would have a lot of an easier time if they put him with Welly and Ling, however his season has been lackluster at best. Really having trouble, whatever reasons there may be for that.

I don't see how his performance is related to his heart surgery. He fully recovered from that years ago.
He just isn't very good. In fact he never was.

That right Leaf Army .
There is no defense for Cereda ... people have to learn when to let go ... and Luca is gone ... long gone ..
In fact I looked up Luca by accident the other day but decided not to post anything because I wanted to keep Frankie's post count in check

In all fairness, it wasn't just Cereda that pee'd in the prospect pool. None of the players drafted that year have amounted to anything. With the close exception to Hedin, who may not even have a future with Toronto. Also, the vast majority of players taken that year by everyone have gone to crap. There are only a very small number of them in the NHL. One of the weakest draft years in history.

Yes, that draft is packed with busts, here are some 1st rounders alone...
Pavel Brendl
Tim Connolly
Kris Beech
Taylor Pyatt
Jamie Lundmark
Branislav Mezei
Denis Shvidki
Jani Rita
Scott Kelman
Kirill Safranov
Barrett Heisten
Luca Cereda
Mihail Kuleshov
Kristian Kudroc
Though it is interesting that only 2 forwards selected in round 1 haven't played in the NHL. Cereda and Kelman, the other is a goalie (Ahonen).

That draft produced a couple of keepers but not many. Can probably list them on my hand...Chara, Kubina, Kaberle (Tomas
), Sturm, Morris and the great Ronnie Sundin!
