Gonna go with Dadonov here, he's one of two prospects left (Peters being the other) with significant NHL experience, and he had a solid rookie season with the Panthers split between Florida and the minors. He wheels kindof fell off that last year but he still has the possible upside to be a top 6 guy eventually... if he ever comes back to North America.
I really hope this kid works out, but to me I think McGinn's gonna go down in Canes history as the guy we picked instead of Frk, Sissons, or Thrower. Was just a bizarre pick that could've been gotten much later. Heck, if he was our guy, we could've just traded back into the third or fourth to take him at market value.
Not voting for McGinn yet myself, but that's mostly because I don't know what we have in him just yet. He missed a good chunk of last year due to injury, and it limited his productivity when he was playing as well for some of the season. So part of me is saying "trust the staff" and "they have probably seen him when he was healthy and liked what they saw", but the other part of me is saying "is this going to be a common theme with this kid?" and "sometimes you just make bad picks"

"Scott Walker loves this kid. This is as close to 'recycling' as draft picks get."
The dude led our top farm team in points by 9 this past year. The year before he was the team's 2nd leading scorer, missing out on the top spot by just 1 point.
lol, but seriously I expect him to quickly become one of the favorite prospects around here.
I hadn't heard much about him. I googled a scouting report and he sounds like a Tim Gleason type. It's good to have another player like that in the organization.
The only knock on Carrick I've seen is that he didn't put up many points last year. But I've still seen him descriptions of him being good in his own end and having potential in the other team's.
I voted for Terry because of AHL scoring. Thought about Samson too.
