Lehner or Bishop??

Does Lehner make the team over Bishop? Does Lehner have the opportunity to play significant time in Ottawa this year, or should he carry the load in the AHL?

I'm in a keeper league, and Lehner is one of the quality remaining goalies. I feel he impressed in his limited time last year. Where do you see Lehner beyond this year. Is the no. 1 goalie spot his for the taking?

Anderson isn't cutting his finger this time. Neither will play

I'd take Bishop

Bishop will play this year.

Richardson will make sure that Lehner plays 60+ games. I feel like the Murrays chose him because they know that Richardson will put development over winning. I think that is the reason why Kleinendorst left, Murrays were calling the shots and he did not like that.

I want to keep them both. I don't want to lose either of them after next season.

My feeling is that Lehner never got the chance to find his consistency because of this.

This is a very pivotal year for all of our goalies.

I think Bishop'll get plenty of chances this year. Very excited to see him more. It's better for everybody if Anderson gets pushed to really try to hang on as the starter as he can be streaky if allowed to coast. No offense to the youngin', cause in the end Lehner may become a superstar, but I think Bishop is the only one capable of really pushing at this stage and making a consistent impact with the big club.

Lehner's still a year or two away IMO, but his task is to improve on that mulligan from last year in the A. Goaltending is such a psychological exercise and, however raw a deal he may have got last year, I think once he proves he can show some consistency and positively handle his emotions he'll have it made. Patience should be at the top of his checklist and that goes for management, coaches, fans...everyone who wants to see this kid succeed. Nothing should be handed to him. Gotta like his attitude these days so I'm pretty confident he's on the right track.

Lehner is probably equal to Bishop right now but is younger and still has room to grow.

Bishop will be the backup this year.

Lehner has more potential and has been solid in his NHL starts

I'm hoping that they become a great tandem and we can throw both of them in nets at anytime but if I have to choose it would be Lehner.

Lehner all day Bishop his back up

My main concern is we dont loss them both ..both becoming RFAs and after all the trade rumors and Lehner being made too jump through hoops I just hope we have a tandem here for years too come

As much as I loved the Bishop trade, I think he's gone by the trade deadline.

IF Lehner can bring the same maturity to the AHL as he did to prospect camp this year, I think he'll have a bounceback year and push Sens management into moving one or the other.

Also, I imagine we are going to make QUITE the profit on Bishop this year, assuming he has the kind of season he's capable of having. The kid is a #1B goalie in my mind, I think he's that good, it's just a matter of him playing to the level most think he can get to... we'll get way more in return this season than we paid for him last year to move him to a desperate team at the trade deadline, then we'll see Anderson & Lehner going into the playoffs.

Just my best guess, though.

I would not be surprised if Lehner succeeds to see Murray try and raise the value of Bishop from what he paid for him.

contract situation seems to suggest it'll be bishop this year. he's older, he's on a 1-way, and lehner is on a 2-way. lehner would have to be lights out in camp fo rhim to stay here.

Bishop...

Purely because he has a 1 way, and probably won't want to stay in Ottawa for 13-14... Which is fair enough... At that point Lehner'll back up Anderson with the intention of taking the starters job...

Bishop will play over Lehner in the NHL this year. Lehner still needs to play a consistent roll as a starter in the AHL. Once he's done that, has shown he can handle the grind of a full season and shows some consistency throughout that season, then he will see NHL minutes.

Anderson. I'm sticking with the guy who's proven in the playoffs. Something Ottawa has NEVER had.

i dont think anyone is suggesting we REPLACE anderson at this point, but our goaltending has more options now than its ever had. IF anderson struggles this year and bishop and lehner play lights-out wherever they might be playing, it certainly gives us the option to move anderson in the last year of his deal and go with bishop-lehner. but i bet the more likely scenario is lehner comes up here after next year to caddy for a year, and then he takes over as the no.1 from anderson the year after.

Bishop will be the backup. He has nothing else to prove in the minors - which cannot be said for Lehner. Also can't agree that Lehner has more potential than Bishop, it appears as though many people are slanted towards Lehner because he was homegrown. All that matters is what they do when called upon in the NHL. At the end of the day, kudos to Murray for knowing where the Sens were thin and doing something about it. As a result, they have an abundance of riches.

Are you serious ?

Lehner hands down is the better goalie !! Lehner has won a championship and AHL MVP at the age of 20 years old ..Bishop has only played more AHL games probably due to the fact that he is 25 years old and been in AHL alot longer ...

Took Robin 24 AHL games before he see his first NHL game. It took Bishop 40 AHL games before his 1st NHL game than another 83 more AHL games before he saw his next NHL start

As far a potential Lehner wins
As far as NHL starts go I still feel a young Lehner is better goalie for this team after Andy for now
