I saw Veilleux in one of his first camps here, and his skill was incredibly apparent. Slick stick skills, and at that point in time, I honestly thought his stick skills were NHL level then. His skating is weird though and he's played no hockey in the past year, played an injury riddled season before that, and his first season pro he played 3 games.
That seriously kills a players development.
KV seems like a real top heavy guy. He's the anti-Crosby, build-wise.
Not surprising that his skating is one of his weaker points.
Okay, I've watched that highlight video several times and I'm on board with KV. I still think he has a very very big hill to climb to make it to the NHL, but I'd love to have a player with his skill set on the team. 4th line finesse/fighter hybrid with net front presence on the 1st PP unit. He'd look real good quietly drifting back into the slot and burying some one-timers from Crosby.
