Dickinson is still my guy outside of the top 14 I think, we'll see how he does at the U18 tourney.

There are alot of good players still to chose from though that may be around our pick, I'd be happy with any of:

Mantha, Domi, Wennberg, Rychel, Horvat, Zykov, Lazar, Hartman, or Hagg

Still hoping we can get a 2nd some how before the draft...

I've been watching highlight vids on youtube and one guy that stood out to me is Alex Wennberg. Dude has tons of skill (comparable to Drouin, imo). He's listed at 6'1'' but it seems a bit generous and he could definitly benefit from bulking up a little. I doubt he's there past 15 and I could definitly see him get into the top 10.

Here's a vid from his WJC tourney:

I'm very intrigued by this kid. He's gone from 1G, 19P in 42GP in the Superelit to 14G, 32P in 46GP in the Allsvenskan in one year. He was great at the WJC too.

His skillset is very noticeable. One of those late rising Swedes which always turn out better than people think, highly doubt he's available where we will be selecting though.

Yeah Kerby Rychel would be awesome. Love that blend of skill and grit. When I see where a guy like that is ranked in this draft, it definitely opens my eyes as to how deep it is.

I would love to get one of Rychel, Horvat or Domi.

Sold.

From what I saw here, it looks like he has great speed, hands, he engaged physically and didn't shy away from board play. I like.

I hope he's available when BM and co step up to the podium.

Well hopefully with that extra 4th, Murray can package a couple of picks to move up and take someone he really likes...

I liked Sean Simpson's idea of packaging a second+fourth for a first round pick. Must be nice that their value has dropped that much considering it took two seconds to get Puempel.

I always love moving up in the draft when you trust you scouts.

Quality > quantity ( even if Leaf fans disagree )

I didn't think we owned a 2nd rounder this year or next as part of the Bishop and Turris trades..

We don't and no team would take a 2nd+4th for a first. Fortunately it looks like Ottawa is going to have a ton of quality players to move this summer. Just look at the line-ups people are posting and you can already see that there is no way everyone is going to fit. As soon as guys like Hoffman are close to waiver eligible they are either going to need a roster spot or they need to be moved.

I really like Lazar and Rychel. Wouldn't it be sweet if we could trade up to a top 10 pick and steal someone like Nurse or Monahan?

Sean Simpson is an idiot.

Find me an example in the NHL where a late second and fourth round pick turned into a first rounder.

What a moron.

Always good when our team picks up additional picks. Been very successful with those 3rd, 4th and 5th round picks. Lets get more by the draft. Keep that cupboard well stocked.

I also wouldn't mind using a third and fourth to get an early 3rd or late 2nd to get Subban or another highly regarded puck mover. We can really cash in on those types of players in this system.

1st, 3rd, tampa 4th, 4th, 5th, 7th if i'm not mistaken.

could see us packaging our first and a young roster player/prospect to trade up. we have quite a lot young players in bingo that are on the edge of the nhl. can't fit them all in, so why not try to sneak in the range of the big centermen.

If we want to move up to pick a specific player we will have to accept it being something like Our 1st + Da Costa.

Honestly Da Costa has no place on the Sens anymore. He's got fantastic puck skills and could be playing in the NHL right now for a team with less center depth. Realistically a full summer of off-ice training and he's going to be NHL ready (in fact he looked very good at times this year). I'm sure there are teams out there that would find

Our draft position right now is 22nd and we have 44 points teams with only one of them in the east. LA has 43 points and they're drafting 19th. If we stay in 6th spot but lose one more game than the 3 western teams after us we would be in 19th.

Our center depth
Spezza, Turris, Zibanejad, Smith, O'Brien, Grant, Pageau, Cannone

If we can get into the top 15 with say our 1st and Da Costa we have a good chance at Wennberg, Gauthier, Mantha, Rychel etc...

I prefer that order as well. Wennberg looks really good. Gauthier is massive, a rookie and has loads of potential, Mantha's got a great shot, so does Rychel.... Lehkonen is another fast riser loaded with talent..

We have a 6th, however we don't have a 7th as part of the Rob Klinkhammer deal.

Would Da Costa + 4th get us a 2nd maybe?

What teams have multiple 2013 2nd round picks at this point?

If we are in the 16-22 range, using Da Costa to trade up into the 12-15 range really doesn't make that much sense, unless one of the Sens top 8 guys is falling, ala Karlsson in '08. But as it stands, after the top 8 or 9, there is a relative drop-off and plateau deep into the 1st round, so I don't see us paying the price to move up in the 1st round.

None of Wennberg, Gauthier, Mantha or Rychel are consensus top 15 guys anyway, so quite probable more than one of those guys is available in the second half of the 1st round.
