I'd be more comfortable with Luongo-Lack than Schneider-Lack, and I feel as though Schneider's return would improve the Canucks more than Luongo's....but that's another story for another thread, another day.
I'm not an expert in NHL contracts. But how is his NHL cap hit lower for the next 2 yrs vs. the previous 2 yrs?? $900K for last 2 yrs, $750K for next 2 yrs. Is Gilman a serious genius or what? This guy is a jedi with supernatural abilities.

Lack was signed to a two way deal that paid him 900K if he played at the NHL level, which he did not, and something around 60-80K to play in the AHL.
Last two years he earned that 60-80K per in the AHL, not 900K.
This year, if he plays in the NHL he will make $650K in the NHL or if he plays in the AHL, about 80K again.
The year after, he gets a guaranteed $850K since he's on a one way NHL deal. His cap hit, however, will be $750K when he's playing in the NHL.

He just gets more guaranteed money, so it's a win for him. And it's a win for us since it's only guaranteed money in the 2nd year.
And since his cap hit is really low it won't make it hard for us to squeeze him into the lineup, which gives him a better chance to play in the NHL and make the higher salary. Everyone wins.

Same thing the Canucks did with Schneider and every team does with its prospects looking to make the show who are stuck in the AHL.
Guaranteed NHL salary even if they are stuck in the minors. Schneider took a paycut from his 1.25 or whatever his ELC cap hit was to 900k I believe as he knew it gave him a better chance of making the NHL (cap hit is lower) and it was a 1 way contract so he was actually earning all of it and not 100K of it.
If u were Eddie Lack would u want a potential 900k salary but most likely a 80k salary each year for playing in the AHL, or 750K guaranteed even if u play in the AHL?
Zack Boychuk took a huge paycut from 900k-1M to about 660K this year as the 2nd year is 1 way I believe. He was the 12th overall pick a few years back I believe.

I don't mean to insult you, but sometimes it seems that people who are not able to judge skills by seeing the player play, are the ones who tend to overemphasize on stats. Your point based on the presented stats is silly anyway and suggest that you really don't know wether Läck is good or that great.
It's hard to do cross-comparisons between goaltenders, anyway. I wouldn't be spending too much time comparing Lack and Schneider's numbers. The question is whether they will translate into the NHL level.
Remember during the lockout when Lundqvist wasn't going to be as good as Toivonen, Toskala and even Schwarz? Yeah.

It's not just the records and stats that tell the skill and promise of players. Eddie stood on his head at the AHL level plus he looked great for us in the pre-season last year.
