I think Lazar fits the Wild's style perfectly. He's a player that buzzes around the ice with a whole lot of energy, is great on the forecheck, great skater, plays physical, but he also has something the Wild need badly: a shooter.
Although his upside might not be the highest out of all the players, I think he fits the Wild style perfectly.
But if we had the 5th overall pick, that would be a different story because you have a chance of selecting a Barkov there...
I'd agree with you though...but Seeler/Draeger/Gunnarsson could be steals.
Gunnarsson maybe but I see Seeler/Draeger is the mold of guys like Lorenz and Medvec. We won't know for at least 4-5 years. And that's a huge, huge wait. We would have benefited if we took a guy like Thrower. We don't know if Scandella/Spurgeron/Kampfer will take that next step in their development. Scandella has looked mediocre along with Kampfer in the AHL.

Definitely need a goal scoring winger but we also need a little more intermediate depth for defense. Going forward, defense next year in the draft (and I'm thinking CHL defenseman) wouldn't be bad.
I meant an "elite" second/third line defenseman. Like a Nick Schultz type (Tyler Cuma). The guy you can find in free agency fairly easily and isn't a huge impact player on the team.
I have faith the front office will take care of it. They seem to find good character guys with strong work ethic and NHL skill level.
Said it before and again -- I would be happy to be proven wrong (especially if the Wild took him), but I see him as JVR 2.0.
Have not seen enough of Barkov in the FEL but I remember seeing JVR at the same age and always thought JVR was soft. Also did not think JVR was nearly as skilled at the same age.
Unless it's a German Shepard. Then it would work nicely.
Idea: Open up an NHL-themed restaurant and name the meals inspired by punny player names. Example: foie gras named "Keith Mallard." It just couldn't fail. See: Planet Hollywood.. Oh wait.
Saw Morgan Klimchuk the other night. If our pick is no longer top 10, I would love to see the Wild select him, he'll be a great partner for Granlund.
That would be too high for me. I've only seen him a few times this year, but he didn't really stand out until he wanted to. I could see him sneaking into the top 20. But I don't want an enigmatic talent.
