With how unreliable Russo is with hashtags, this might not be a valid way of checking, but he did say #mnwild and not #gophers or whatever he uses for the goofs.

Russo just interviewed Lucia (Don) and posted it on his blog.

It makes more sense because a) tDon said yesterday that Mario would begin skating October 25th and b) Russo should be covering the Gophs since today is their media day. Also, why would Mario go to the Mayo? Makes sense for tDon given his health problems.

Have to think it's a goof with hashtags.
EDIT: Man we need hockey back.

That's what I thought, Mario was a few weeks out from skating and Russo is a Gopher rube now.

Hamburg was pretty quiet during RIT's 5-4 upset win over Michigan tonight. Was only able to listen to the game while at work, so obviously no real analysis can be done...he was on the 2nd PP unit and played on the so-called 4th line (although RIT tends to cycle 4 lines pretty evenly since they lost Andrew Favot and Tyler Brenner a couple years ago).

He was +2 on the night, however.

Just watching that game, the greatness that is Jaden Schwartz really permeated through the game and took over. He might not be in the league anymore, but I do think he was the first star.

Graovac with two goals and an assist. First star.

9 GP 9 G 4 A 13 PTS

Great start to the season I'd say.

Dunno why this thread is so dead...

Quote:
Bob McKenzie: One of early season surprises in OHL is OTT F Tyler Graovac, 9 goals in 9 GP. Had 8 last yr, career high is 10. MIN 7th rder, 2011...Graovac is 6-4 but has put on 30 pounds, now 204, since being drafted. Playing his way into legit prospect territory.

Glad Graovac is finally scoring. He had a burst at the beginning of last year, but then it faded. I hope he can put together an entire season as the go-to guy.

I think he was a good pick-up for the 7th round. Maybe after proper grooming and growing in the OHL and AHL, he'll develop into a decent two-way center for us.

Per Mike Russo, Louis Nanne is hurt:

Quote:
Wild 2012 seventh-rounder Lou Nanne, who played at Edina, was injured Saturday and taken to hospital after being checked in the boards while playing for BCHL Penticton.

As I mentioned, I talked to Lou Nanne’s grandfather, Lou Nanne, this afternoon. Nanne said his grandson needs to get an MRI, but he could have a broken bone in his shoulder or torn his rotator cuff.
Damn. He had a great start to the year.

he might also be a christensen. really frustrating because he shows flashes of really effective play but they're few and far between. one can hope, though.

i really meant it about the go hot guys post that got deleted for some reason. abuse.

seeler always gets forgot about.

Graovac does seem to be really streaky. He had a tear early in 2010 I believe and in the playoffs before he was drafted.

I like Seeler and always remember him, but right now, for me he is just on the peripheral as a "guy in College"...

Seeler impressed me with his hockey sense, in the handful of times that i've seen him on the ice... His skating needs work, but he's a smart kid.

The Gun is doing quite well in Sweden judging by statistics, really like our late round dman picks the Wild have made.

Seeler doesn't get forgotten. He's just a long ways from making any impact in the NHL at this point. Kind of like when we drafted Medvec. It's hard to get interested in a prospect that might be 4-6 years away from making any impact in the NHL, much less the AHL.

As for Graovac, I think we need to temper expectations of him being anything but maybe a project. He starts off on a tear but he's a) streaky and that's due to b) being injury prone. He gets an injury and that throws off his entire season.

BTW what is up with Bussieres? -4? 2 goals scored? And only 4 PIMs?
