Landon Ferraro, this we should add Andrej Nestrasil or Brent Raedeke.
I expect a big pickup in production for Ferraro at the AHL level. He looks to be a bottom six guy at the NHL level but he is still a sneaky offensive guy and I think that clicks this year down there. Very good skater, surprisingly gritty and hopefully finally over injuries. One of the first guys you notice and just keep noticing when you turn on a Griffins game.
On Nestrasil and Raedeke, both are bigger guys that have some qualities. Raedeke is a smart checking line player not sure he will ever make the NHL, probably even harder in Detroit. But I like the way he skates and how he thinks the game defensively.
Nestrasil has been disappointing and this year is big for him. But I am still intrigued by the fact he is 6'2 210lbs and has some upside. He has some talent, but forces plays a lot when in the lineup in the AHL. Also surprised he didn't tear apart the ECHL. But previous to pro hockey he was an easy point a game player. Now will it translate to pro, it didn't look that way last year. The Wings stalled on giving him a contract for a little bit but ultimately still believed in his upside. I still think something could be there but that better show by January or I am jumping off board for good.
I can't seem to get anyone on the Quine bandwagon, so I voted Ferraro
I am with you in the next round on Quine. Really like what his stated goals are for next season. Enjoy watching him play everytime I see him. Hoping Athanasiou uses his trade the way Quine has.
Went with Quine, I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him as the biggest riser come this time next year. I think he's got quite a bit of untapped potential just waiting to come out.
Went Ferraro, at this point if youre askilled guy and rated this low you have avery slim chance of turning into anything. Callahan will be my next vote for that reason. He doesnt need to rely on his skill to become an NHLer, and Ferraro to an extent could go this way as well.
Not as tough as Callahan but has a physical game, will fight but still has some untapped offense I believe
And wow! Out of Callahan, Ferraro, AA (D), AA (F), Quine, Paterson, McKee, Nedomlel, Lashoff, Nicastro and DeHaas at least 9 will not even make it into the top-20 - and I see a NHL-Chance for all of them. That is really a great depth!
18) Landon Ferraro
19) Adam Almqvist
20) Alan Quine (I think this guy will shoot up the rankings if he plays a whole season this year)
--------------
21) Andreas Athanasiou
22) Brian Lashoff
23) Jake Paterson
24) Mitchell Callahan
25) Richard Nedomlel
26) Max Nicastro
27) Will Coetzee (another player I'd like to see improve)
28) Ben Marshall
29) Mike McKee
30) Thomas McCollum (last chance)
Strange thing about the Red Wings prospects... Seems like we're lacking at the top end level. But man... we're at 18-19 with prospects that have a decent chance to be depth players.

I find nothing wrong with our top end talent, especially while Smith and Nyquist are being still considered prospects. Where you were drafted always seems to still play a large part in how high-end the label is willing to go. The first four guys from this poll will all fall within the first 50 prospects when the other part of this site updates that. That means high-end to me

Yeah, but the Capt'n is still correct. We do not have many prospects that you can definitively write off right now.

Anyone in the top 10 could be considered top end talent really (top 6 F, top 4 D or starting goalie). And going down 11-18 you have a lot of depth but some wildcards too.
