i see "he'll play on crutches" is in the lead right now. it was perhaps the greatest call i've ever heard, but i can't in good conscience vote for any "highlight" that involves messier.
How is Burrows ahead of Pavel Bure's OT goal? Eesh.
The general idea is that if the Canucks get knocked out by the Hawks a third time, especially after being up in that series 3-0, the current roster would have been blown up. Burrows basically saved the franchise with that goal.

100% disagree. He didnt save the franchise by any means. It's not like people would stop going to the games if he didnt score. The Canucks would still be a money making machine. He essentially saved the job of AV and stopped any drastic changes to personnel.
The guy who actually did the most to help this franchise were Pat Quinn and Burke. But also hurt this franchise a lot.
Voted McLean's save. Some obvious adds:
-- Kirk McLean's 50-save shutout against Montreal
-- Geoff Courtnall's video-review goal in game 6 of the 1994 finals (right before "he'll play on crutches")
-- Lapierre's game-winner in game 5 of the 2011 finals
-- Bure stuns the crowd in his first NHL game
-- Bure's pass-to-himself-off-his-skate goal

I think you meant he saved the foundation of the roster, not the franchise itself. And I disagree. The importance of a goal like the one against a geographical hated rival like Calgary was way bigger than finally closing the door on a 3-0 series lead. In my humble opinion anyway, I still remember how crazy everyone went when Bure scored, I think I was listening to the game on the radio at church. haha.
I think the only reason the Burrows goal won is because most people aren't old enough to remember the craziness that ensued with some of the 94 games and goals, and I can't really blame anyone for that.
Glad the Burrows goal is 1st. Yes some people aren't old enough to remember the emotions...etc with the '94 goal but that Burrows goal saved this Franchise from heckling that would last for a very long time! We were far & away the best team that year, then we are up 3-0 against a hated rival (who we lost the last 2 series against) only to lose the next 3 & have to play a Game 7. If we lose that we are one of (if not THE) biggest chokers. This core would have been torn apart & who knows where this Franchise is today..... THAT is a big goal for a Franchise if I've ever heard of one.

There is no chance that the '94 rivalry with Calgary was equal to 2011 Chicago. We were knocked out by them the two previous years and were considered the favorites each time.

The Canucks were favorites the first year, but the second the Hawks were the better team by a mile. 3rd the Canucks were once again the favorites.

Say what? IMHO that rivalry with Calgary is the biggest rivalry this franchise has had, especially in the 1989-1994 era.
I notice something new every time I watch that Burrows goal. This time it was how Ballard celebrated it like it was an OT goal against the Blue Jackets in December.

I don't blame him. Wasn't he a healthy scratch in favor of Rome for most of the series? Plus, he's one of the guys that wasn't there for the previous two depressing eliminations.
